ABT Calls It The Urus Scatenato

Just 99 examples will be made.

Undoubtedly, the Lamborghini Urus is one of the most exciting SUVs one can buy. Get the Performante or the S; things only move up the excitement ladder. But what if you need a bit more from your high-riding Italian bull? Well, ABT Sportsline has a solution. Meet the ABT Urus Scatenato. That last word is Italian for “unleashed” or “raging, wild”. The Kempten-based tuner will make just 99 examples.

Starting, of course, with the powerplant. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 produces 666hp/850Nm in Urus’ Performante and S derivatives. ABT Sportsline plays around with the turbochargers and the intercooler to up the output to 810hp. As a result, the power-to-weight ratio falls below 3kg per hp from 3.23kg, a segment benchmark. There’s no word on the torque, the sprint times or the top speed. However, the tuner confirms that the 3-year/100,000km warranty from Lamborghini stays intact.

What good is a tuned-up vehicle if it doesn’t shout about it? Part of it is taken care of by the exhaust system with the ABT’s four titanium tailpipe trims with perforated inner pipe and a 105mm diameter. The rest of the loudness comes from the tweaked design. The ABT Urus Scatenato rides on 23-inch forged rims finished in glossy black. The same shiny treatment is evident on the exposed carbon fibre elements on the SUV. The list includes the engine compartment cover and release, engine cover, front splitter with centre blade, rear wing, ORVM caps and rear skirt insert. According to ABT, the Urus Scatenato has more downforce than the standard vehicle.

That’s not all for the glossy carbon bits. The same stuff can be found indoors, such as on the seat frames, the dashboard, the gear knob and the mirror triangle. Rounding off the embellishments are a couple of emblems, including one on the door sill from ABT and the unmissable lettering “Scatenato 1 of 99”. Not all will read “1 or 99”, but you get it!

So, what’s your take on the ABT Urus Scatenato?
