A Munich-Based Tuner Creates This Pumped-Up Corvette

It has been conceived to celebrate Geiger Cars’ 45th anniversary.

The modern-day Corvette C8 Stingray is a very different beast from its lineage. By shifting from a front-engined to a mid-engined layout, everything from its personality to the driving dynamics is distinct and refreshing. There’s plenty of punch, too, with the naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 outputting 481hp/613Nm. However, a Munch-based tuner, Geiger Cars, has taken a specimen to create a more spruced- and pumped-up version. It’s calling it the Corvette C8 Stingray 45th Limited Edition. Why the 45th? That’s because Geiger Cars is celebrating its 45th anniversary, and the creation is a testament to the years of hard work.

Work began with the powerplant, obviously. By introducing a modified software along with an intake manifold and throttle body, the peak output shot up to 522hp/652Nm. Simple math reveals an increment of 41hp/39Nm. The car also received AP Racing brake systems with 6-piston callipers on 378mm discs on the front axle and 355mm at the rear with Pagid sports brake linings and steel braided brake lines.

The Corvette C8 Stingray 45th Limited Edition also features a new coilover adjustable suspension system. It offers the flexibility to lower the chassis and tweak the compression and rebound damping. A high-performance cooling system and a custom exhaust system with valve control play crucial roles. And so do the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres (the photographs feature Continental tyres), wrapped around 245/35R19 (front) and 305/30R20 (rear) OZ Ultraleggera HLT rims. Those are finished in matte bronze with matt black accents while donning the “45 1979-2024” lettering.

The celebratory project’s bodywork is draped in racing green paint, complemented by carbon fibre spoiler lips at the front and rear. Even the small flaps on the front apron and the front air duct are made of carbon fibre. Geiger Cars did not customise the sportscar’s interior. It opted for a light beige-brown theme for the leather upholstery for most of the cabin. Contrast comes in courtesy of the black-trimmed elements with beige-brown stitching.

Geiger Cars has priced the Corvette C8 Stingray 45th Limited Edition at EUR 149,900. Do you think the add-ons justify the tuner’s demand?
