What is the Saxonia Annual Calendar?
For Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, A. Lange & Söhne (Lange) has unveiled the Saxonia Annual Calendar. Visually it is similar to the original Saxonia Annual Calendar that was introduced in 2010 featuring a 38.5 mm case size and discontinued a few years ago.
The new Saxonia Annual Calendar brings the design back in a reduced 36 mm case diameter and powered by a new automatic movement. It is available in two versions: argenté dial housed in a white gold case and grey dial housed in a pink gold case.
What are both versions dial features?

Both dials are made from 925 silver. The lancet-shaped hands, baton-shaped applied hour-markers and outsize date frame are made from 750 gold. The subdials for the day of the week (9 o’clock), month (3 o’clock) and moon phase display (6 o’clock) feature a snailed pattern.
Is it powered by a new automatic movement?
Yes. Both versions are powered by Lange manufacture calibre L207.1, a new automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, small seconds with stop seconds function, moon phase display and annual calendar functions of outsize date, day of the week and month.

It measures 30.4 mm (diameter) * 5.7 mm (thickness), comprises of 491 parts, 56 jewels, 3 screwed gold chatons, beats at a luxurious rate of 3 Hz or 21,600 vph and has a power reserve of 60 hours (when fully wound). It features a lever escapement, shock resistant screw balance, an in-house manufactured “superior quality balance spring,” and a “precision beat adjustment system with lateral setscrew and whiplash spring.”
What are both versions case features?

Argenté dial: case is made from 750 white gold. Grey dial: case is made from 750 pink gold. Both measure 36 mm (diameter) * 9.8 mm (thickness). Dial and caseback side feature sapphire crystal (Mohs hardness of 9).
Argenté dial / 750 white gold version comes with a hand-stitched reddish-brown with a gradient colour alligator leather strap fitted with a prong buckle made from 750 white gold. Grey dial / 750 pink gold version comes with a hand-stitched reddish-brown alligator leather strap fitted with a prong buckle made from 750 pink gold.
What do we think?
When one thinks of Lange, it is usually models from the Lange 1 collection, Datograph Up/Down (from the Saxonia collection), models from the Zeitwerk collection and the much sought after Odysseus collection. While every Lange collection / watch is special, the new Saxonia Annual Calendar is important for the brand. It provides an entry-point into the brand (albeit an expensive one) and enhances the brand’s classic dress watch credentials. Additionally, it becomes entrenched as a foundational model in the brand’s catalogue.

It brings a much-loved watch back in the catalogue (though without its legendary SAX-O-MAT automatic movement) in a reduced case diameter. Smaller case sizes are a trend now, last year the brand unveiled the 1815 time only with small seconds model in a 34 mm case aimed at both male and female collectors!

It is now the second annual calendar in the brand’s catalogue, the other being the gorgeous 1815 Annual Calendar with its Arabic numerals and manually wound movement. With its classic dress-watch aesthetic, a useful annual calendar complication, and a wearable 36 mm case size, it is destined to be a bestseller for the brand; appealing to a broader audience, many of whom might be seeking their first Lange watch.
