A. Lange & Söhne (Lange) has unveiled a new version of the classic three hand 1815 for Watches and Wonders 2025. It gets a blue dial, reduced case diameter of 34 mm, and a new manufacture movement – Lange’s 75th. It is available in a white gold or pink gold case. It belongs to the 1815 family.

Blue dial is made from 925 silver. Hands are made from 750 gold. Arabic numerals.
Powered by L152.1, a hand wound movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and stop-seconds. It is “crafted to the most exacting Lange quality standards, decorated and assembled by hand; precision-adjusted in five positions; plates and bridges made of untreated German silver; balance cock engraved by hand.” Diameter: 28.10 mm. Height: 2.90 mm. Parts: 171. Jewels: 21. Screwed gold chatons: 4. Lever escapement. Screw-balance is shock resistant. Lange manufactured superior-quality balance spring. Two case options, made from 750 white gold and 750 pink gold. Diameter: 34 mm. Height: 6.40 mm. Dial and caseback feature a sapphire crystal, with Mohs hardness of 9. White gold version comes with a blue hand-stitched alligator leather strap fitted to a prong buckle made from 750 white gold. Pink gold version comes with a reddish-brown hand-stitched alligator leather strap fitted to a prong buckle made from 750 pink gold.
Our Thoughts
Lange’s classic 1815 three hand watch has been in their catalogue for many years and has evolved over time. Often viewed as an entry into the world of Lange, the classic 1815 in 38.50 mm is one of my favourite watches. The design’s Arabic numerals give it a perfect balance of formality, youthfulness, and versatility. A dress watch without being too formal, it brims with personality and wrist presence. Dress watches are making a comeback, and it is refreshing to see Lange add to the 1815 line-up. Kudos to them for giving it a new movement, the brands 75th. Lange is among very few watch brands that have a dedicated movement for every watch they produce. 34 mm might seem small, but the way the lugs are designed and sits on the wrist, this might be the most perfect iteration of the 1815, appealing to both male and female collectors alike. My favourite is the pink gold version.
