Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Unveiled

Aprilia unveils the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition to honour the iconic Australian circuit, featuring exclusive racing-inspired graphics, commemorative details and a 105 hp parallel-twin engine.

What is the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition?

Italian Motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has unveiled the RS 660 Philip Island Tribute. It’s a limited edition version of the brand’s middleweight sportbike commissioned to honour the iconic Philip Island circuit in Australia.

The special edition celebrates Aprilia Racing’s history at the circuit, where the Italian manufacturer has secured ten victories across different classes of the MotoGP World Championship, alongside its success in the World Superbike Championship with the RSV4.

The circuit also hosted Aprilia’s 300th victory across all FIM Grand Prix World Championship classes, when Raul Fernandez took the chequered flag ahead of the field in the 2025 MotoGP championship.

The motorcycle was also launched at the juncture where the MotoGP championship is bidding farewell to the iconic circuit after spending nearly 3 decades on the championship calendar.

How does the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition differ in design?

The Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute features an exclusive colour scheme inspired by the circuit’s logo. The special edition uses white as its base colour, complemented by green accents on the side fairings and tail section, while the red wheel rims complete the contrasting finish.

The side fairing features a graphic of the Philip Island circuit layout, with ‘Phillip Island Circuit’ lettering and a chequered flag motif representing the finish line.

The fuel tank wears a commemorative badge displaying Aprilia’s victory tally at the Australian circuit. Each motorcycle also receives an individual serial number (however, Aprilia hasn’t disclosed the exact production number) on the steering head plate, highlighting its numbered special-edition status.

What engine powers the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition?

The Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute is powered by a 659cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine featuring four valves per cylinder and an electronic Ride-by-Wire throttle system.

The engine produces 105 hp at 10,400rpm and 70Nm of peak torque at 8,400rpm. A six-speed gearbox transmits power to the rear wheel.

What chassis, suspension and braking equipment does the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute offer?

The Aprilia RS 660 Philip Island retains the RS 660’s aluminium twin-spar frame, which uses the engine as a structural element. The suspension setup comprises a 41mm Kayaba upside-down front fork with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping, paired with a Kayaba rear monoshock offering similar adjustments.

Braking duties are handled by twin 320mm floating discs at the front and Brembo four-piston radial callipers. The rear uses a 220mm disc with a Brembo two-piston calliper. The braking system is supported by cornering ABS.

What electronic rider aids are available on the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute?

The special edition retains the Aprilia Performance Ride Control electronic package supported by six-axis inertial measurement (IMU). The package includes adjustable traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS, and engine maps managed through the Ride-by-Wire throttle system.
