A Wrangler with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 always felt like something an enthusiast would have built, if the factory had been far too sensible. But then Jeep built it themselves. The Rubicon 392 gave us that wonderfully excessive combination of serious trail capability and American muscle, before the Final Edition suggested it was time to say goodbye. Apparently, the farewell speech was premature.
Al-Futtaim has launched the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Moab 392 in the UAE, continuing the V8 Wrangler story under a new name. This time, it is a part of the Twelve 4 Twelve special production series. For buyers in the UAE, that means another opportunity to own a factory-built Wrangler with 470hp and 637Nm. For everyone else, it means another reason to lower the window when one pulls alongside, just to listen to that V8 burble.
The Wrangler Story: From Wartime Willys To UAE Desert Weekends
Jeep’s story reaches back to the wartime Willys MB of 1941. The civilian CJ models carried that go-anywhere spirit into peacetime, before the Wrangler arrived in 1986 to succeed the CJ series. Over the decades, the formula has evolved, but the appeal remains easy to understand: recognisable proportions, an upright driving position and the promise of somewhere interesting beyond the tarmac.

The Wrangler also comes with a culture few SUVs can replicate. Owners discuss tyres, trails and recovery equipment with the enthusiasm other people reserve for holiday destinations. Often, those conversations lead to the same place.
In the UAE, that makes perfect sense. A desert drive can begin within easy reach of the city, while the mountains offer an entirely different sort of weekend. Here, a proper 4×4 has plenty of opportunities to earn its keep. The Wrangler’s personality fits those outings particularly well.
Al-Futtaim first brought the Rubicon 392 to the UAE in 2021. The Moab 392 follows that model and its Final Edition, keeping the big-engine option alive for an audience that understands its appeal.

What Does The Moab Name Mean?
Moab is a town in Utah synonymous with off-roading: red-rock landscapes, challenging trails and a deep connection to the Jeep community. Naming a Wrangler after it sets a fairly clear expectation.

The UAE offers a different terrain menu. Sand demands momentum and careful throttle control; rocky trails reward patience, clearance and precise wheel placement. Both give the Moab 392’s hardware a purpose beyond looking impressive outside a café.
A performance badge on an SUV can promise little more than straight-line pace. A name borrowed from one of off-roading’s best-known destinations carries expectations about what happens when the road ends.
The 6.4-Litre HEMI Is Still The Main Attraction
The numbers deserve their own moment: 470hp and 637Nm from a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 in a hardcore off-road SUV. The 392 designation refers to the engine’s displacement in cubic inches, a pleasing reminder of the American muscle-car vocabulary behind this rather unusual Wrangler.

There is a two-mode dual exhaust, too. A V8’s soundtrack is one of the reasons people want one of these, and Jeep clearly remembers that. If you still insist on listening to music, The Alpine stereo is pretty good too.
On sand, the attraction goes beyond noise. Climbing a dune requires enough power to maintain momentum, with the driver managing the throttle and choosing the right line. A healthy torque reserve is more than welcome.
For Wrangler enthusiasts, the emotional appeal is equally straightforward. The familiar off-road shape gets an engine with enough character to make even the journey to the meeting point feel special.
Proper Hardware Behind The HEMI
The Moab 392 pairs a 4.56:1 axle ratio with a Selec-Trac full-time transfer case offering a 2.72:1 low-range ratio. Those figures describe two important pieces of the off-road equation: the axle gearing helps multiply torque at the wheels, while low range gives greater control during slow, demanding manoeuvres.

It rides on 35-inch all-terrain tyres and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. That combination allows for substantial tyre sidewalls, useful when tackling rough surfaces and adjusting pressures for different terrain.
Rock protection sill rails help protect the lower body along rocky trails. Black tow hooks, mould-in-colour fender flares and a body-colour hardtop complete the exterior specification. There is enough here to make the Moab name feel earned.
Leather For The Drive Home
Inside, the Moab 392 gets heated black Nappa leather-trimmed seats, an Alpine audio system and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation.
Heated seats will probably enjoy fewer working hours in Dubai than in Utah, but the wider point is that this Wrangler has enough to accommodate ordinary life between adventures. A comfortable cabin and a useful screen matter when the same vehicle handles weekday traffic and weekend trails.

The real good news is already clear: the factory V8 Wrangler continues. For anyone who thought the Final Edition had closed that particular door, the Moab 392 gives the next desert-season shopping list a very tempting addition. Best leave room for a fuel budget.
