2027 Kawasaki Z650 S Unveiled with New Colours

Kawasaki has unveiled the 2027 Z650 S with three fresh colour options. Explore the new paint schemes, ergonomics and unchanged mechanical specs.

What’s new on the 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S?

Japanese Motorcycle maker Kawasaki has unveiled an updated version of its Z650 S model. The Z650 S is a middleweight naked street fighter based on Kawasaki’s “Sugomi” design and engineering philosophy.

The 2027 update is more of a cosmetic refresh for the Z650 S. The Z650 S is now offered in three distinct shades and combinations. The motorcycle remains mechanically unchanged, with no major update to its features or specification list.

How does the Z650 S differ from the standard Z650?

The Z650 S is positioned as the more comfortable, everyday-friendly version of Kawasaki’s 650cc naked streetfighter. It uses the same engine and basic chassis as the standard Z650, but incorporates repositioned footpegs and a new handlebar that creates a more upright and relaxed riding posture.

What type of frame, suspension and braking hardware does the 2027 Z650 S use?

The Z650 S retains the same mechanical hardware as before, built around a tubular diamond steel frame offering a balance between rigidity and sharp handling. Suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm telescopic fork at the front and a Horizontal Back-link monoshock at the rear with preload adjustment, tuned for comfortable daily riding.

Braking is managed by dual 300 mm front discs with dual-piston callipers and a single 220 mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper, supported by dual-channel ABS.

What type of engine and gearbox is used in the 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S?

At its core, the 2027 Z650 S continues to be powered by Kawasaki’s proven 649 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel-twin engine with a DOHC, 8-valve. The engine is paired to a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.

The engine makes about 67.3 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,700 rpm. The naked streetfighter does 0-100 mph in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 km/h.

What colour options are available on the 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S?

For 2027, Kawasaki offers the Z650 S in three new colour combinations: Pearl Blizzard White / Candy Lime Green, Candy Persimmon Red / Metallic Carbon Grey and Ebony / Metallic Carbon Grey.

What type of tech is on offer on the 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S?

The 2027 Z650 S keeps the same electronics and instrumentation package as the previous model. The standard tech and features include:

  • Traction control

  • Dual-channel ABS

  • 4.3-inch colour TFT display

  • Bluetooth connectivity

  • Kawasaki Rideology app support
