What is the new NOMOS Glashütte Tetra 27 White and Tetra 27 Duo?
They are new compact size additions to NOMOS Glashütte’s (“NOMOS”) square watch collection. The Tetra 27 White is a three-hand watch, with a subdial at 6 o’clock for the subsidiary seconds. The Tetra 27 Duo is a two-hand watch.

What are their dial features?
Tetra 27 White: White silver-plated galvanised dial. Tempered blue steel hands. Mix of Arabic numerals and baton-shaped markers.

What are their case and strap features?
Both models feature a stainless steel case measuring 27.5 mm (length) * 27.5 mm (width) * 6.1 mm (thickness). Lug-to-lug distance: 38.5 mm. Dial side features a sapphire crystal. Stainless steel caseback. A sapphire crystal caseback is an option. Water resistant up to 5 ATM (splash proof).
The watch comes with a black cordovan strap from Horween Genuine Sheel, an American company. A steel Bracelet, 18 mm and a steel Bracelet Sport, 18 mm, are options.
What are their movement features?
The Tetra 27 White is powered by Caliber DUW 4001, a manual winding movement that drives the hours, minutes and hacking seconds. It measures 23.3 mm (diameter) * 2.6 mm (thickness), comprises 17 jewels, beats at a luxurious rate of 3 Hz or 21,600 vph and delivers a power reserve of up to 53 hours.
Tetra 27 Duo is powered by Caliber DUW 4001 Duo, a manual winding movement that drives the hours and minutes. It measures 23.3 mm (diameter) * 2.6 mm (thickness), comprises 17 jewels, beats at a luxurious rate of 3 Hz or 21,600 vph and delivers a power reserve of up to 53 hours. It is based on the Caliber DUW 4001, except that it “has a modified second wheel with a smaller staff.”
What do we think?
NOMOS is a brand I am familiar with since a long time. Several of my watch collector friends own at least one. It was not until Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 that I was able to fully immerse myself in their world. The watches were a delight. Adding a NOMOS to my collection is big on my wish list.
I cannot think of any other brand where the ratio of its admiration/respect vis-à-vis the average price point of its watches is so high. You could literally wear a CHF 2,000 watch from the brand and socialise with collectors wearing watches in the CHF 60K – 80K (perhaps even more) and not feel out of place!
Square watches (as well as other shapes such as rectangle and cushion) are typically not the most commercially successful for watch brands, unless they are horological icons such as Cartier’s Tank or Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso. Brands prefer to keep things simple by focusing on round watches. Yet NOMOS has kept the Tetra collection buzzing, offering both existing and new customers an enticing non-round watch alternative. And by sizing it at 27.5 mm, the Tetra 27 White and Tetra 27 Duo will appeal to both male and female collectors who prefer the current trend of smaller watches.
