Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Keeway has launched its first premium electric scooter for the Indian market, dubbed the Hypervolt-R. The E-scooter is available at an introductory price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
What is the Keeway Hypevolt-R?
The Keeway Hypevolt-R is the brand’s first electric scooter for India and is positioned as a premium performance EV rather than a basic city commuter. The Scooter is set to compete in the premium E-scooter space, competing against the likes of Ather 450 Apex, Simple Energy Ultra, TVS iQube ST, Yamaha EC-06, and Bajaj Chetak C2501.
What powers the scooter?
The Keeway Hypevolt-R is powered by a mid-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor that produces 12kW of peak power and 72 Nm of torque. It uses a dual 5kWh removable battery setup, enabling owners to either charge their Hypervolt’s battery directly on the scooter or separately.
How fast is the Hypevolt-R?
Keeway claims a top speed of 115kmph for the Hypevolt-R. The scooter can also accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.3 seconds, giving it a strong performance edge in its category.
What range does it offer?
The Keeway Hypervolt claims an IDC certified range of 180km on a full charge. The scooter supports 0-80 per cent charging in around 3 hours when using the in-vehicle charging.
What features does it get?
The Hypevolt-R comes with a 5-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports, reverse mode, ride modes, and LED lighting. It also includes premium safety and assistance tech such as dual-channel ABS, traction control, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, cruise control, blind-spot detection, a rear reverse camera, and ADAS features.
What mechanical platform underpins the Hypevolt-R?
The Keeway Hypevolt-R features telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, rides on 14-inch alloy wheels, and uses disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. It also gets a 770mm seat height and 27 litres of under-seat storage, offering commendable everyday usability.

Keeway Hypevolt-R is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, introductory ex-showroom. Bookings are open for Rs 5,000 through the brand’s official website and authorised dealerships.
