A Tokyo Meets Woking Paint Job
McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has once again flexed its artistic muscle, this time in Dubai, with the delivery of a one-off McLaren Artura Spider “Geo-Hex.” It’s the most extensively personalised Artura ever built, and that’s saying something in a city where Lamborghini Huracans are often considered entry-level.
The “Geo-Hex” name isn’t random marketing fluff. Its paintwork fuses Tokyo Pearl and Papaya Spark — two bold McLaren colours that should’ve clashed but somehow dance together thanks to MSO’s “velocity fade” technique. Imagine a colour gradient designed by Tony Stark’s AI, inspired by the hexagonal molecular pattern of carbon fibre that underpins every McLaren.
The result? A rolling piece of geometry that looks like it escaped from a high-end design lab and went straight to Sheikh Zayed Road. Even the brake calipers wear the dual-colour treatment — Papaya on one side, Tokyo Pearl on the other — because symmetry is overrated when you’re this bespoke.
Inside the Hex
Lift open the lightweight dihedral doors, and the theme continues. The interior’s two-tone Alcantara wraps the seats, doors, and steering wheel.
The owner, a long-standing McLaren Dubai client, called it a “full-blown art project,” and he’s not wrong. Every stitch, fade, and flourish was developed in close collaboration between the customer and Woking’s finest paint whisperers. Dubai has seen a lot of supercars, but this one? It’s a statement piece that just happens to do 330km/h.
Cesar Habib, Regional Director – Middle East, Africa & India McLaren Automotive said, “Built through a close partnership with the MSO team, this Artura isn’t just a symbol of performance, but also a reminder that personalisation has no limits when you bring imagination to the table. We’re proud to have worked alongside the client on a project that redefines bespoke, and I look forward to seeing more of these rare McLaren supercars from MSO on the roads of Dubai and beyond.”
Hybrid Power, Hardcore Performance
Underneath all that bespoke artistry is McLaren’s advanced hybrid powertrain. Fun fact: the Artura Spider is the brand’s first open-top plug-in hybrid. The 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 + electric motor combine to produce 690hp and 720Nm.
0-100 km/h? Three seconds flat. Top speed? 330 km/h. All that, while being capable of creeping silently for up to 30km in pure EV mode. Thanks to McLaren’s MCLA carbon-fibre chassis, the Spider only weighs about 1,560 kg, barely heavier than the coupe. The retractable hardtop disappears in just 11 seconds, while rolling at speeds of up to 50km/h.
