“Clive Cussler’s work has not only captivated audiences but also played a pivotal role in popularizing the use of SUB diving watches globally.”

DOXA has recently unveiled the SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler, their second timepiece which honours Clive Cussler (July 15, 1931 – February 24, 2020), a legendary author, a maritime explorer and founder of NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency), the latter a non-profit organization he founded in 1979.

Clive Cussler authored over 85 books. Dirk Pitt, a fictional character, “was the hero of his novels.”  Clive Cussler “was no stranger to adventure himself: he was a dedicated shipwreck hunter through NUMA.”

The SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler “is made of stainless steel with an aged patina, just like the first SUB 300T Clive Cussler presented last year in New York – the watch is perfect for an adventurer’s wrist, just like Dirk Pitt would have imagined.”

“The North, often associated with guidance and constancy, represented the relentless pursuit of truth and discovery. The South, with its connotations of the unknown and exotic, evoked the many uncharted territories Cussler dreamed of exploring. The East, symbolizing beginnings and new dawns, served as a constant reminder of the innovation and curiosity that drove him to write and explore. Our Thoughts

Diving watches are a very specific field of horology. Not every brand has the expertise to create them, and not every brand should either, because for actual divers, their safety is at stake. DOXA is an expert in this category. Blancpain, Omega, Panerai and Rolex are few brands which possess the heritage and expertise in creating diving watches. Whether one is an actual diver, or loves collecting diving watches, or both, DOXA makes top-notch diving watches at affordable prices which are available at physical stores and on their website.

Based on information and images, the SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler combines great looks with a diving pedigree second-to-none.

It has an abundance of details, whether it is its dial, the red numerals for Clive Cussler’s birthday on the date wheel (“7”, “15”, and “31”), the aged patina of its case, “Beads of Rice” bracelet and folding clasp, and its engraved caseback, to name a few aspects.

It is a fantastic addition for a collector who loves diving watches. A future collectible, one that will enable its owner to dive safely to deep depths should they choose to.
