Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+: A Blend of Power and Practicality for Discerning Drivers

Similar to the Mercedes-AMG ONE, the GT 63 PRO boasts additional air deflectors on the underbody to accelerate airflow.

The prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed served as the backdrop for Mercedes-AMG to unveil the latest addition to the AMG GT family – the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ (provisional figures). This high-performance machine caters to driving enthusiasts who crave exceptional dynamics, particularly on the racetrack.

Engineered for Precision and Speed

The GT 63 PRO boasts a meticulously crafted driving experience, evident in its agile responsiveness and overall performance enhancements. Several key modifications contribute to this heightened dynamism and faster lap times:

Increased Engine Output: The heart of the beast lies in the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, tuned to deliver a mighty 450 kW (612 hp). This represents a 27 hp increase over the AMG GT 63, while peak torque has been impressively bolstered by 50 Nm to a staggering 850 Nm. This translates to exhilarating acceleration, especially noticeable at higher speeds. The GT 63 PRO rockets from 0 to 200 km/h in a mere 10.9 seconds, shaving off 0.5 seconds compared to the AMG GT 63. The top speed reaches a remarkable 317 km/h.

Optimized Cooling System: To ensure the drivetrain maintains optimal operating temperatures even under demanding conditions, the AMG GT experts have significantly expanded the cooling package. This includes the incorporation of two radiators positioned strategically within the left and right front wheel arches. Additionally, the top-mounted radiators for the differentials on both axles and the transfer case of the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system now benefit from active cooling with electrically operated water pumps. These advancements allow for more efficient heat dissipation, promoting consistent performance on the racetrack.

Enhanced Aerodynamics: Aerodynamic refinements contribute significantly to the overall performance by improving both longitudinal and lateral dynamics. A redesigned front apron with prominent air deflectors crafted from visible carbon fibre flanks the enlarged side air intakes. The standard equipment list also includes an active aerodynamic profile in the underbody, the AIRPANEL active air control system in the front apron, and an aerodynamics package featuring a fixed rear wing. These modifications collectively reduce aerodynamic lift on the front axle by over 30 kilograms, resulting in more precise steering. Similar to the Mercedes-AMG ONE, the GT 63 PRO boasts additional air deflectors on the underbody to accelerate airflow. All these aerodynamic measures work in conjunction with the rear wing design, which increases downforce on the rear axle by roughly 15 kilograms.

Uncompromising Performance Meets Everyday Usability

While the GT 63 PRO prioritises racetrack prowess, it doesn’t compromise on everyday practicality – a hallmark of the AMG GT family. In response to customer feedback, the second-generation AMG GT offers a spacious and comfortable interior with good all-round visibility. The option for 2+2 seating further enhances its versatility. Technological advancements like the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation, rear-axle steering as standard equipment, and active aerodynamics further elevate the driving experience. Additionally, the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system ensures confident handling and power delivery in various conditions.

The GT 63 PRO comes equipped with an array of features that elevate both performance and aesthetics:

High-Performance Ceramic Brakes: The standard AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system with six-piston fixed callipers at the front and single-piston floating callipers at the rear boasts the largest standard ceramic brake discs currently offered by Mercedes-AMG, measuring 420 millimetres at the front axle. These lightweight, fade-resistant brakes, inspired by motorsport, contribute to faster lap times and exceptional stopping power.

Lightweight Forged Wheels and Performance Tyres: The AMG Performance 21-inch forged wheels in a cross-spoke design are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres as standard. For drivers seeking an extra edge on the track, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R Cup tyres are offered as a no-cost option.

Motorsport-Inspired Design Elements: The standard AMG Exterior Carbon Fibre package reinforces the car’s motorsport heritage, featuring a front splitter, side sill trim strips, diffuser, and rear wing crafted from high-quality carbon fibre. Black-painted brake callipers, AMG Performance seats with exceptional lateral support, and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfibre further elevate the interior ambience.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ emerges as a compelling proposition for driving enthusiasts seeking a car that seamlessly blends exhilarating racetrack performance with everyday practicality and luxurious appointments.
