JLR Partners with Fortescue for Battery Tech and a Eco-Friendly Bonus

JLR just upped their electric car game by teaming up with Fortescue to use their fancy battery tech called Elysia. This basically means JLR’s electric cars (like the new Range Rover Electric coming out soon) are about to get some major upgrades in their battery life, safety, and how well they perform in general.

For drivers, this translates to perks like faster charging times, smoother operation, and potentially even longer distances on a single charge. But it’s not just about happy customers. By keeping a close eye on battery health, JLR can reuse these batteries for other things after they’re done powering cars, which is a big win for sustainability.

So how does this Elysia thing work its magic? Imagine having a super smart twin for your battery that can predict and solve problems before they even happen. That’s basically what Elysia does with some high-tech wizardry. This lets JLR fine-tune their batteries for both performance and safety.

Lotus Delivers First Eletre SUV In The Middle East

British marque Lotus Cars has delivered the first Eletre SUV to its owner in the Middle East. The event occurred at Adamas Motors Group’s showroom in Dubai, where the customer took the keys to his prized possession from Karl Hamer, Chairman & CEO of Adamas Motors Group and Dan Balmer, President & CEO of Lotus Cars in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The specimen delivered was a Lotus Eletre S finished in Solar Yellow body colour, accompanied by gloss black wheels. Indoors, there are lashings of Nappa leather with steel blue accents. The variant sits in the middle of the product portfolio, packing a 603hp all-electric powertrain. That’s enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time of 4.5 seconds. The EV is efficient enough to deliver a maximum WLTP-certified range of 570km. The Lotus Eletre starts at AED 496,000 in the UAE.

Last Chance To Own A New Dodge Challenger R/T In The UAE

Remember the ‘Last Call’ edition of the Challenger that Dodge introduced in the UAE last year? That and a similar Charger were designed to celebrate the soon-to-retire HEMI V8. Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, the official distributor of Dodge vehicles in the UAE, has announced that only 10 units of the Challenger R/T, powered by the 5.7-litre HEMI V8, remain to be purchased. In short, it’s the last call for the ‘Last Call’ edition of one of the most celebrated muscle cars ever.

The 5.7-litre V8 outputs 375hp/536Nm, which goes to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Indoors, the occupants can make themselves comfortable with various features such as a Harman Kardon sound system, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and ventilated seats, an air filtration system and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Next year, the Dodge Challenger will enter an all-new, all-electric world. Like the Charger EV we saw earlier this year, the Challenger is also destined to join the same bandwagon.
