Singapore Airshow 2024: Thai Airways Orders 45 Boeing 787s

At the ongoing Singapore Airshow 2024, Thai Airways has placed an order for 45 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. More specifically, it’s for the 787-9 twin-engined widebody aircraft. Those will help the carrier modernise and bolster its fleet of long-range aircraft. As a result, the airline will add more routes to its international network.

Presently, Thai Airways operates various widebody jets to almost 60 domestic and international destinations. The fleet, which includes Boeing’s 777s and 787s, helps Thailand’s flagship carrier connect to the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Compared to the 787-8, the 787-9 is 20 feet (6 metres) longer. That opens space for nearly 20 per cent more passengers. At the same time, the newer aircraft will help save up to 25 per cent on fuel and emissions.
