Akasa Air Orders 150 Boeing 737 Jets

At the ongoing Wings India 2024, Asia’s most prominent civil aviation event, the country’s newest airline, Akasa Air, has announced a firm order for 150 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The order comprises two variants – the 737 Max 10 and the 737 Max 8-200.

In 2021, Akasa Air placed an order for 72 Boeing 737 jets, followed by an order for four 737 Max 8 aircraft in June 2023. With the latest order today, the airline has become the first Indian carrier to have an order book of over 200 aeroplanes within 17 months of starting operations.

Presently, all-Boeing Akasa Air operates 22 737 Max aircraft. Minus that from the total order of 226 jets, the American aircraft manufacturer has yet to deliver 204 derivatives. As per the airline, deliveries will continue over the next eight years.
