Finnair Announces Flights To Tartu
In case you’re unaware, Tartu, a city in southern Estonia, has been recognised as one of the three European Capitals of Culture for 2024. It and nearby areas will host over 300 events throughout the year. That means tourism will see a steep spike.
To serve its customers, Finnair has decided to launch a year-round service to Tartu starting March 31, 2024. The carrier will operate two flights daily, six days a week, between Helsinki and Tartu. The flight time between the two cities is about 40 minutes. An ATR aircraft will be used to ferry passengers. As things stand, no other airline offers a flight to Tartu.
Flights to Tartu will depart Helsinki at 1:50pm and 11:55pm, with scheduled arrival times of 2:35pm and 12:40am (+1) local time, respectively. The return flights will leave Tartu for Helsinki at 6:00am and 3:00pm to land in the Finnish capital at 6:40am and 3:40pm, respectively.
The new service will complement Finnair’s existing flights between Helsinki and Tallinn, Estonia’s capital. Up to ten Finnair flights a day operate on that route.
