GM To Offer All Ultium-based EVs With This Feature By 2026
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST will be the first to receive it.
General Motors, which has brands like Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac under its umbrella, has made an announcement that will surely excite all EV (Electric Vehicle) lovers out there. The company says that by 2026, all the Ultium-based EVs will be offered with vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional charging technology.
In case you’re unaware of the technology being discussed here, it enables EV users to transfer energy (in this case, electricity) from the EVs to their homes when desired. Of course, the establishment has to be equipped with the required gadgets to receive such feeds. Such a setup will come in handy during power outages. Another example would be to offset electricity needs during peak demand days.
The first models to receive the technology mentioned above include the 2024 versions of the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST, GMC Sierra Denali Edition 1, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Chevrolet Equinox EV, Cadillac Lyriq and the upcoming Cadillac Escalade IQ.
