You Can Now Book The New Range Rover Velar In India

It’s available in two Dynamic HSE variants.

JLR unveiled the new Range Rover Velar earlier this year. It’s now up for grabs in the Indian market. The Indian arm of the British marque has opened bookings for the refreshed SUV. It’s available in two Dynamic HSE variants, where one is petrol-powered, and the other is diesel-fed.

The petrol derivative (P250) packs a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that offers 247hp/365Nm. On the other hand, the diesel variant (D200), which also benefits from a mild-hybrid system, has a 2.0-litre turbocharged powerplant that puts out 201hp/430Nm. Both engines come coupled with an all-wheel-drive system and 8-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the new Range Rover Velar can hit 100kmph from nothing in 7.5 seconds and clock 217kmph flat-out when running on petrol. Those figures, in the same order, for the diesel engine are 8.3 seconds and 210kmph.

As expected, the standard features list for both variants is the same. It includes Pixel LED headlights with an auto-levelling function, electronic air suspension, a fixed panoramic roof, 20-inch alloy wheels, powered seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, an 11-speaker Meridian sound system, an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four-zone automatic climate control, flush door handles, a wireless mobile charger and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The list of assistance systems and safety features is quite extensive. It comprises heated and electric ORVMs, automatic headlamps and wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, a 3D surround camera, cruise control with speed limiter, Terrain Response 2 with Dynamic Program, a tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags and Wade sensing.

JLR India offers the new Range Rover Velar in four colours, with and without a black roof. They are Fuji White, Santorini Black, Varsine Blue and Zadar Grey. The company has confirmed that deliveries of the new Range Rover Velar will commence in September this year.
