Another Mid-Sized Off-Road Truck Has Entered The Arena: 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition
Joining the likes of the Tacoma Pro, Ranger Raptor, and Colorado ZR2 Bison, this Jimmy has some ground to make up!
A shining new warrior has entered the Colosseum. Complete with 35″ tires and a 1.5″ lift (over the standard AT4X), this warrior has an uphill battle against the likes of the current Champion, Tacoma Pro, and the crowd favorite, Ranger Raptor. Unabashed, this Canyon AT4X AEV will wade into the fray. Is it enough to take home a big W for the team? Let’s find out!!!
Way back last year, GMC introduced the new and updated 2023 GMC Canyon. Seeing as they’ve got a new platform to improve, why not take a shot at going offroad? Especially if you’ve got AEV in your corner, helping coach this plucky little truck over rocks, through streams, and down washboard roads.
The details of this new edition are mostly standard attire nowadays: 35″ tires with an in-bed vertical mount, updated front fascia, and larger fender flairs allowing a “best in class 12.2″ ground clearance”, 1.5″ of lift more than the standard AT4X, heavy-duty AEV bumpers front and rear (winch capable of course), five boron steel skid plates (radiator, steering gear, transmission/transfer case, fuel tank, and rear differential), auxiliary switches on the inside, and bead lock-capable Salta wheels. Did I also mention it says AEV everywhere?! No one will mistake this as anything else other than the top-end Canyon!
Where I think this Jimmy could succeed is in the offroad buyer that wants a top-end experience. Do you want a very capable overlanding build with a warranty? Look no further. Do you also want leather and even Baja drive with launch control? This is the truck for you.
But what is it going to cost? I have no idea. Pricing and availability coming later this year. Be on the lookout!
