Al Futtaim Honda promotes motorcycle culture with the Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival

The special screening event will also have special bike builds in attendance

The 23rd and 24th of September weekend sees a culmination of motorcycle culture and cinema as the Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival (DMFF) kicks off for its second edition. This edition also sees a new partnership with Al-Futtaim’s Trading Enterprises Honda to unite motoring and movie enthusiasts.

Set at Warehouse Four in Al Quoz, the festival will feature curated films ranging from short films to full-length documentaries and special bike builds. The latter will see Trading Enterprises Honda showcase a range of motorbikes, such as the recently introduced CB 300R Neo Sports Café, the Dakar-winning CRF 450 and the CBR 1000RR, along with the ever-popular Goldwing.

Cinephiles would be treated to motorcycle-themed films produced by biking and filmmaking community members. Some of the notable screenings include ‘The Desert Said Dance’ – a film summarising The Baja 1000, ‘The Ended Summer’ featuring Richard Vincent, who’s famed for racing motorcycles, surfing, sailing, karting and flying planes along with ‘1500’ that captures the journey of 57 daring riders that embarked on a 1500 mile rally.

The best from the lot would stand a chance to win from the six award categories: Best Dubai Film, Best Overall Film, Best Documentary, Best Short Film (under 15 mins), Best Short Film (over 15 mins), and Viewers’ Choice Award. A DMFF’s panel of judges comprising local and international motorcycle, media, and film industry professionals will adjudge the awards as mentioned above.

Amir Shousha, Franchise Director, Honda UAE at Al-Futtaim’s Trading Enterprises, said, “Motorcycle culture has always been an intrinsic and vibrant part of society’s mainstream cultural ethos and is a coveted mode of transportation. Supporting the second edition of Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival gives us the opportunity to interact, expand and celebrate the UAE’s motorcycle community, which has grown exponentially in the recent years, with Honda being at the forefront, leading the space.”
