Would You Buy The Honda Elevate?

It’s available in four trim levels, covering two engine-transmission combinations.

Planning to purchase a compact SUV in India? Well, there’s a new entrant to consider – the Honda Elevate. Unveiled in June this year, the Elevate bumps its maker’s portfolio to three models. It shares most of the stuff with its stablemate, the City. However, one significant difference between the two Honda cars is the SUV doesn’t get the strong-hybrid powertrain option (yet). With a starting price of INR 11 lakh, the Elevate arrives in four trim levels, covering two engine-transmission combinations. Here’s the complete price list:

Powering the Honda Elevate is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 119hp/145Nm. Buyers can have it mated with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The certified mileage figures are 16.92kmpl for the petrol-CVT powertrain and 15.31kmpl for the petrol-MT.

As standard, the Honda Elevate packs features like LED-powered projector headlamps and DRLs, 16-inch wheels, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, built-in PM2.5 air purifier, tilt & telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, Hill Start Assist and Vehicle Stability Assist with Electronic Stability & Traction Control. In fully loaded form, the SUV ropes in additional features such as ADAS, six airbags, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker sound system, auto-dimming IRVM and soft-touch finish on the dashboard, door lining and the armrest. Other features like a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, auto-folding ORVMs, electric sunroof, wireless mobile charger and 17-inch alloy wheels are also available.

The Honda Elevate is available in seven monotone and three dual-tone colours. Those settling for a Pearl-finish paint or a dual-tone one will have to spend more money. As standard, the Elevate comes with a 3-year/unlimited km warranty, extendable up to 5 years. And, of course, there’s the option of Honda’s Anytime Warranty for up to 10 years.

In India, the Honda Elevate will compete against the Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The question is – would you buy the Honda over its rivals?
