Watches with a Purpose – The Jacquie Aiche X Timex Awakening Collection

Timex once again collaborates with Jacquie Aiche to add the Awakening Collection to the Legacy Series. Check out the bold releases here.

The American Watch brand, Timex launched another collection in June in collaboration with the Out-of-the-World designer, Jacquie Aiche. Timex is known for its robust and affordable watches, but now and then, they tend to lean on their history of craftsmanship to create unique pieces as is the case with this special edition – The Awakening Collection.

Jacquie Aiche brings a different level of dimension to the watches which can be witnessed in the watches; she is known for her luxe-bohemian designs as well as combining her North American heritage with Middle Eastern influences. This limited-edition collection comes with two models that showcase the Jacquie Aiche signature flower eye motif. The eye symbol is a talisman that offers protection and empowerment to the wearer – This design is something that is integral to Jacquie Aiche product lineup including jewellery, household items, clothes and watches (as seen in the previous release of the Sweet Romance Collection with Timex).

With the Awakening Collection, the focus was on the power of transformation and Jacquie Aiche herself states that in these timepieces, the wearer is provided with a calmness that would help them through their personal growth journey as well as embrace the change that comes with it.

This collection comes under the legacy series that came to fruition due to this collaboration. There are two models, however, the stand-out model would be the Malachite Flower Tribe Eye with the Malachite dial, and the natural design of the Malachite does add a surreal experience to the watch.

The second model is the Gold Sunray Flower Tribe Eye watch that comes with the luminous gold-tone sunray finished dial which shines brightly with any little light that reflects on it.

Both these models come with a gold-toned stainless-steel case and bracelet, and the watches are driven by a quartz movement. The dial and bracelet are 36mm and 18mm respectively, which is the right size to showcase the boldness of these watches. The dials come with Austrian crystal hour markers as well as Austrian crystal baguettes lining the bezel. The case is finished with a mineral crystal lens and a case back that is highlighted by the Flower Eye motif imprint. The watch does offer 50m water resistance and is limited to one watch per person. At AED 1700 and AED 1250 for the Malachite model and Gold Sunray model respectively, this is relatively affordable and targeted to the fashionista crowd. While the models can seem loud, it is elegant and does showcase a luxurious soul. Would this be something that you would wear and so, which one would you prefer, or would you stick with the previous releases?
