Nissan sells its Russia business for just 1 Euro

Japanese automaker Nissan has decided to shut shop in Russia. The brand had to sell its business for just 1 Euro to state-owned entity NAMI, suffering a $687 million loss. The Russia Ukraine war forced the brand to halt operations at its St Petersberg plant in March and hasn’t been able to commence operations since. Nissan becomes the latest global entity to exit Russia amidst the war situation with talks of sister firm Mitsubishi following suits doing rounds.

The Latest Corvette Z06 Lands In UAE

At the ongoing Automoto Show, being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, Chevrolet has a tasty treat. The latest iteration of the Corvette Z06 has made its first public appearance in UAE’s capital. Destined to launch in the region early next year via Bin Hamoodah Auto, the brand’s official dealer in Abu Dhabi, the sports car boasts a naturally aspirated V8 that puts out 670hp. That’s enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time of under three seconds.

Audi offers a new Competition Package for RS models

German carmaker Audi is offering a Competition Package for its RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupe, and RS5 Sportback models. The package includes suspension upgrades with a Sports Exhaust System Plus, resulting in a “more intense” exhaust sound. Eight kilos worth of sound-deadening materials has also been removed so one can hear more of the 450hp twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6.

Stellantis Middle East has a new Group Managing Director

Leading automaker Stellantis has appointed Frano Šušnjara as the new Group Managing Director for the region. Šušnjara boasts a resume of two decades of experience in roles like sales, marketing and network management in European and South American markets. The new appointee will promote the brand’s Dare Forward 2030 strategy, which sees the regional product line-up get electrified by 2025 and look to achieve 25% to over 70% regional production autonomy.

Audi Adds Some Newness To The A4

To freshen things up a bit, Audi India has introduced two new colour options for the A4 sedan – Tango Red (shown above) and Manhattan Grey. That’s not all! The range-topping Technology variant now packs a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a 19-speaker, 755-watt Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system. Sweet! The sedan is also available in two more derivatives – Premium and Premium Plus. And as for the prices, they start at INR 43.12 lakh.

Touted by Ultraviolette as India’s first “high-performance electric motorcycle”, the F77 is getting closer to a commercial launch. Before that happens, however, the brand has organised the F77 Test Pilot Experience for the bike’s fans. Virtus Now Being Exported From India

Volkswagen has announced that it has begun exporting the made-in-India Virtus. The first shipment of 3,000 units is heading to Mexico from the Mumbai port. The sedan, like its sibling – the Taigun, is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, one that has been created specifically for promising markets like India. Soon, more India-made SAVWIPL (Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd.) products will join the list of exported models and head to markets across Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean region, among others.

Renault India Dials In Festive Mood With These Three

You see the Limited Edition versions of the Kwid, Kiger and Triber. Renault has created them for this year’s festive period. For the Kiger and Triber, the carmaker took the range-topping RXZ derivatives and garnished them with a dual-tone paint job (white with black roof), red accents on the front grille and DRLs/headlamps, and side door decals. The Kwid Limited Edition dons the same lunacy, based on the Climber spec. The Triber also features Piano Black wheel covers and door handles, whereas the Kiger packs Silverstone wheels with red callipers. Renault will open bookings for these Festive Limited Editions on September 2, 2022.

Mahindra has confirmed that deliveries of the Scorpio-N will commence on September 26, 2022. That’s when Navratri start. However, the priority will be to deliver the Z8-L variants first, part of the first 25,000 bookings. The automaker aims to complete that task by the end of November 2022 and says that the average wait time for the first 25,000 bookings will be around 4 months. So if you’re one of that lot, expect an update regarding the delivery timeline of your vehicle from tomorrow onwards. The rest should expect communication regarding their SUV’s delivery estimate period in the next 10 days.

Here’s Some Exciting News From MG

The SAIC-owned British brand Morris Garages has confirmed that it will put the all-electric Cyberster sportscar in production. Revealed in 2021 as a joint study between customers and the carmaker, the model in question is a two-door, two-seater convertible that takes inspiration from the MGB Roadster. The EV will feature scissor doors, 5G connectivity and an upturned duck tail that aids aerodynamics. Performance? It’ll have enough oomph to hit 100kmph from nothing in 3 seconds. And with the sensible shoes on, one could take the Cyberster for nearly 800km before it runs out of juice.
