Third Coachbuilt Bentley Debuts On May 7

Bentley Motors will unveil its third coachbuilt model for the modern era on May 7, 2024. Of course, Mulliner’s expertise has been employed here because, unlike the Bentaygas and Continentals, this new model will be limited to just 16 units. That means it follows the sold-out Batur and Bacalar beauties. And yes, the iconic W12, “in its most potent iteration”, will be on duty here, making the upcoming limited-run Brit among the last Bentleys to use this engine before it is shelved for good.

Excited? Of course, you are!

Nico Hülkenberg named Audi’s first F1 driver for 2026 but starts racing from 2025

2026 marks a landmark year in the history of Formula1. Apart from the introduction of monumental changes to the race car regulations, 2026 will witness German carmaker Audi’s entry to motorsport’s most elite race. And as early as mid-2024, the Audi Factory team has announced the signing of its first driver – Nico Hülkenberg. The German racer with over 200 F1 races under his belt is one of the most experienced drivers in the sport and now signs a multi-year contract with Sauber. While Hülkenberg will appear in Audi factory team colours in 2026, he will be driving for Sauber as early as 2025, thereby making a return to F1 next year post a multi-year hiatus and accompany the transformation to the factory team. Nico Hülkenberg commented: “The prospect of competing for Audi is something very special. When a German manufacturer enters Formula 1 with such determination, it’s a unique opportunity. To represent the factory team of such a car brand with a power unit made in Germany is a great honor for me.”

China’s GDAT and Airbus have finished signing a contract. The former will purchase up to 20 H175 helicopters from the latter. The agreement splits the order half and half between firm and optional orders. An Ireland-based start-up helicopter leasing and financing company, GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF), will market the H175s to potential customers in the energy, SAR (Search and Rescue), EMS (Emergency Medical Services), and parapublic market segments globally. GDHF will also market 50 Airbus H160 helicopters, which GDAT placed an order for last year.

IndiGo Places Order For Airbus A350s

India’s largest airline by fleet, IndiGo, has placed a firm order for 30 Airbus A350-900s. Furthermore, the paperwork states an option to purchase an additional 70 aircraft of the same type. These widebody jets will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.

There’s no word on when the deliveries will commence. Also, it isn’t the only aircraft type in Airbus’ order books for the Indian airline. Last June, IndiGo created history by placing the biggest single order ever. It ordered 500 jets from the Airbus A320 family. Presently, the aircraft manufacturer still has to deliver nearly 1,000 units. The order book comprises a mix of A320Neo, A321Neo and A321XLR single-aisle aeroplanes.

With the new order for A350s, IndiGo will deepen its business ties with Airbus and open a new chapter with Rolls-Royce, one of the world’s most renowned aviation marques.
