What has Triumph launched in India?
Triumph Motorcycles has launched two special editions of its renowned adventure tourer model: the Tiger 900. The Special edition comes in two variants – namely, the Tiger 900 Alpine Edition and the Desert Edition.
The prices start from Rs 15.35 lakh ex-showroom for the Alpine Edition and Rs 16.05 lakh ex-showroom for the Desert Edition.

What is the key difference between the Alpine and Desert editions?
Both models are extensions of the existing Tiger 900 Adventure Touring platform. Both variants offer distinct capabilities and use cases for their riders.
The Alpine Edition is a road-biased variant, based on the GT Pro, and is intended for riders who want a touring setup. The variant features a Marzocchi suspension and Akrapovic exhaust, offering performance and comfort legible for long-distance touring. The Alpine Edition wears Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black colours with blue accents,
The Desert Edition is based on the Rally Pro model and is meant for rougher and more demanding terrain. The variant comes equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust and long-travel suspension from Showa for adventure use. The Desert Edition exhibits a more rugged look featuring Urban Grey and Sapphire black colours with Baja Orange accents.
What engine do these models use?
Both the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert Special Edition models use the same Triumph 888cc T-Plane triple-cylinder engine. The engine is capable of producing 106 bhp of power at 9,500 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 6,850 rpm.
What Type of electronics do these models share?
Both Alpine Edition and Desert Edition share the same standard electronics suite from Triumph. That includes a 7-inch full-colour TFT display with MyTriumph Connectivity, Triumph Shift Assist, cornering ABS, traction control, TPMS, and emergency deceleration warning, while the Desert edition gets an additional Off-Road Pro mode.
