Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the updated 2027 Tiger 1200 range, bringing revisions to its 1,160cc three-cylinder engine, chassis, suspension and rider-assistance technology.
Triumph has focused on improving performance and refinement while making the large-capacity adventure motorcycle easier to manage at low speeds. The update also introduces front and rear Bosch radar systems, enabling a more comprehensive suite of Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS).
The ADV Tourer is available in four variants: GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. The GT models are designed primarily for road touring and feature cast aluminium wheels, while the Rally variants are more off-road oriented and use side-laced spoked wheels.

What engine powers the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200?
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 continues to use a 1,160 cc liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine with Triumph’s T-plane crankshaft configuration, but Triumph has made revisions for 2027 to improve performance and rideability.
The updated engine produces 158PS at 9,250rpm, representing an increase of 8PS over its predecessor. Peak torque remains at 130Nm, with Triumph stating that more torque is available at lower engine speeds. It uses the same but now refined six-speed gearbox to transfer power to the rear wheels.
The performance gains come from several mechanical revisions, including a redesigned cylinder head, new pistons, lighter inlet and exhaust valves, more precise fuel injection and a freer-flowing exhaust system. Triumph has also revised the camshaft profiles, crankshaft and balancer shaft to improve combustion efficiency, manage rotating mass and deliver smoother engine operation.

What suspension does the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 get?
The 2027 Tiger 1200 now incorporates SHOWA EERA HEIGHTFLEX semi-active suspension, which combines electronically controlled damping with an automatic ride-height reduction function.
The system automatically lowers the seat by 30 mm as the motorcycle comes to a halt. It monitors motorcycle speed and braking input via sensors and information from the six-axis IMU to adjust the rear suspension. Another trick the suspension offers is Centre Stand Assist, which, when the centre stand is deployed, temporarily raises the rear suspension of the motorcycle in an attempt to reduce the effort required to lift it onto the stand.
At the front, the Tiger 1200 uses a 49 mm USD fork, while the rear suspension features a monoshock with automatic self-levelling preload adjustment. Both ends provide 200 mm of suspension travel.

What chassis and braking equipment does the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 use?
The updated 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 features the same tubular steel frame with forged aluminium outriggers and a bolt-on aluminium rear subframe. It also continues to use the Tri-Link aluminium swingarm. The British Tourer rides on a 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheel.
What major technology updates does the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 get?
Along with the new SHOWA suspension, the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 receives several other technology updates such as Bosch radar systems that support rider-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assistance and forward collision warning. Other updates include a new 7-inch Bosch HD touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an integrated ventilated phone compartment with USB-C charging, and adaptive LED projector headlights that adjust illumination through corners.

What riding modes are available on the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200?
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 offers up to eight riding modes depending on the variant. These include Road, Rain, Sport, Eco, Off-road, Rider A and Rider B, with the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer also receiving the additional Off-road Pro mode. The riding modes adjust parameters such as throttle response, ABS, traction control and engine braking to suit different riding conditions. The two configurable Rider modes allow riders to personalise settings to their preferences.
What design changes does the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 receive?
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 receives sharper styling and redesigned bodywork, including a revised fuel tank, radiator cowls, front beak and windscreen. At the front, the motorcycle features a new compact LED projector headlight with adaptive cornering functionality, with distinctive LED DRLs. At the rear, it features multifunction LED units that integrate the indicators and tail-lights for a cleaner design.
The GT variants use cast aluminium wheels for a road-focused appearance, while the Rally variants feature side-laced spoked wheels to complement their more rugged, off-road-oriented character.

How does the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 differ across its four variants?
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 is available in four variants: GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. The GT models are road-focused and feature cast wheels, while the Rally versions offer spoked wheels and enhanced off-road capability. The Explorer variants add a larger 30-litre fuel tank and extra touring equipment, compared with the 20-litre tank on the Pro models.
