A select few people at BMW embarked on an extraordinary project, bringing a new level of vision to life. The BMW R 1300 is a one-of-a-kind motorcycle developed by Philipp Ludwig, Andreas Martin, Theresa Stukenbrock, Paul Summerer, and Thomas Becker. Instead of being any bicycle, the R “TITAN” is portrayed as a brutal, aggressive, stunning, and extremely precise machine designed to be won. This bike has it all.
The new R 1300’s core design is based on the “TITAN” concept. Pushing the R into sharp, aggressive lines is crucial for a sprinter. Why? This R 1300 is distinguished by its familiar contour. By featuring a mirrored tank and fairing that were characteristic of the racing-style monocoque, the “TITAN’s” dynamic presence was enhanced by its air panel, which was present on the standard bike. This is done by visually shifting the weight of the bike forward so that when it explodes, the front wheel remains on top of a surface.
Its 1300cc boxer engine is the heart of the bike, which has been designed to be compact and powerful. The. With its tight-fitting construction and bold action, it resembles a predatory creature, gripping the ground with its muscles while at rest. Akrapovic, a longtime partner, collaborated with him in creating the “TITAN’s” and designed what is described as an exclusive titanium exhaust system. By enhancing the bike’s visual appeal and sound, the system is effective. The exhaust pipes from both cylinders emerge, and after a while, they briefly meet beneath before splitting into two-flow outlets that create an aggressive look under the rear end.
“TITAN” is positioned at an optimal height, with its Wilbers chassis featuring specialised arms for extending its swinging arm. By hard-tuning this chassis, the production engine’s massive power is never wasted. Why? A bold-looking nitrous oxide bottle is strategically placed between the two titanium rear silencers to enhance its raw power. This system powers the rider and machine towards the finish line by injecting them with nitrous oxide without delay. After the engine is boosted with nitrous, the sheer power is transferred to the tires by means of transmission and shaft drive, catapulting the “TITAN” forward.
With a precision-calibrated gear system, the bike’s Magura HC3 brake lever ensures that it decelerates with force once it has crossed the finish line. In high-speed sprint competitions, the footrests are designed to extend far towards the back of the participant.
