At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, MG Motor marked its 101st anniversary by unveiling three innovative models: the Cyber X concept, the refreshed MG Cyberster MY 2026, and the limited Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition. These launches officially introduce MG’s Cyber family, reflecting the brand’s shift towards digitally driven and lifestyle-oriented mobility.
A standout at the show was the Cyber X concept, a futuristic design study aimed at a global audience. Created by renowned designer Jozef Kaban, known for the Bugatti Veyron, the Cyber X blends bold, urban adventure aesthetics with a futuristic appeal. Its design features a tall stance, minimal overhangs, and smooth surface transitions that create a sense of motion and power. The car’s Stardust Grey exterior adds visual intrigue, resembling matte sandstone when still and shimmering with movement. Classic elements like pop-up headlights are reimagined with aerodynamic upgrades, symbolising MG’s transition from its racing roots to a more lifestyle-focused identity. The Cyber X caters to urban explorers and off-road adventurers alike, broadening MG’s appeal to younger, more adventurous drivers.
The MG Cyberster, widely seen as the electric successor to the classic MGB, returns in 2026 with significant updates. Since its launch, it has transformed the electric sports car market in China, capturing a 10% share and delivering over 3,000 units globally in six months, earning the title of the world’s best-selling electric coupé. The refreshed model introduces striking new colour options—Iris Blue and Andes Grey—and a refined interior.
