Nikon Middle East & Africa hosted a red-carpet regional premiere of the new Nikon ZR, the brand’s latest addition to its lineup of Z Cinema cameras. With the new Nikon ZR made in collaboration with RED Digital Cinema, Nikon aims to redefine the possibilities of compact cinema production. The launch event saw Nikon showcase the ZR’s cinematic potential via an exclusive screening of short films shot entirely on the Nikon ZR with content creators, videographers and media professionals, including The Cornea Impression team attending the same.

What’s new in the Nikon ZR Cinema Camera
The new Nikon ZR boasts a full-frame sensor and Nikon’s exclusive R3D NE RAW recording format (developed in partnership with RED). Further specifications of the new Nikon ZR camera includes up to 6K/59.94p recording, 15 + stops of dynamic range, and dual base ISO 800 and 6400 for stunning image quality in any light.

Additionally, the new Nikon ZR is the world’s first interchangeable-lens full-frame camera to offer 32-bit float audio recording through its built-in OZO Audio system. For the layman, that translates to professional-grade sound capture via the camera’s built-in systems. It further gets subject-detection AF and a 4.0-inch DCI-P3 high-brightness monitor – all packed within a 540g compact body.

Commenting on the launch, Narendra Menon, Managing Director of Nikon Middle East & Africa, said: “The Nikon ZR represents a major leap in the videography industry, as it joins Nikon’s time-honored camera technology with RED’s world famous color science and cinema codecs. The camera brings cinematic production capabilities into a form factor that’s accessible, compact, and intuitive, empowering a new generation of filmmakers, content creators, and professionals to tell their stories with uncompromised quality.”

The new Nikon ZR Cinema Camera is now available all across the Middle East and Africa region through Nikon’s authorised dealer network.
