The New LG UltraFine evo Monitor Has an Insane Display

It features Thunderbolt 5 for professional creators, providing fast connectivity, in addition to 6K resolution and accurate colours.

Setting New Standards for Professional Displays

LG Electronics has introduced the UltraFine evo 6K (model 32U990A), the world’s first monitor to combine 6K resolution with Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. Designed for video editors, graphic designers, and other creative professionals, the new display is built to handle demanding, data-heavy workflows.

High Resolution and Colour Accuracy

The 32-inch display has a resolution of 6,144 x 3,456 pixels and a pixel density of 224 PPI, providing sharp text and detailed visuals. The LG UltraFine evo 6K is factory-calibrated for macOS and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space and 99.5% of the Adobe RGB colour space, making it ideal for video editing, photography, and print tasks. With VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, the monitor ensures consistent brightness and accurate colours. Additionally, a new Studio Mode with three Mac-specific presets will be introduced.

Connectivity and Workflow Efficiency

The LG UltraFine evo 6K supports Thunderbolt 5 with up to 120 Gbps, enabling real-time 4K rendering, fast transfer of 8K RAW files, and smooth peripheral integration. It can connect two 6K monitors via daisy-chaining, creating nearly five times the workspace of a UHD 4K display. Also, it is the first monitor in the world to support Thunderbolt 5 connectivity.

Design and Usability

The monitor has a nearly borderless 4-sided design with tilt and pivot for comfort and includes KVM switching and multiple ports for seamless Mac and Windows use.

Availability

Following its launch in South Korea and Japan, the LG UltraFine evo 6K monitor will be available for sale in the USA and Europe. The latter is scheduled for October 2025.
