The Day I Met Giulia

Just to give you a hint about how much I love this thing, I’ll let you know that this car is on my phone’s wallpaper, I think about it twice before going to sleep. I don’t care if it is unreliable or how outdated the dashboard looks, I’m ready to ignore all of these things and its electrical issues too because I just can’t hate it. I saw it in flesh & it is one of the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. That sharp nose & angel eyes are enough to make you buy it.

The car welcomes you by showing its own face in the cluster just in case you forgot how beautiful she is. Then comes the steering wheel which feels so well made with proper shaped paddle shifters followed by a reasonable sized infotainment system which is just excellent at doing its job. It won’t ask you about your arthrhitis nor it comments anything about your hairstyle, it just sits there being a screen and projecting the info which you actually need that’s it.

The Exterior: it causes same amount of distraction as you get from social media.Some people say it might look outdated but I don’t think so. The problem is we just got used to seeing too much boldness in cars, especially in sedans, that we forgot to appreciate the real standards for beauty. The designing is smooth and a bit subtle without unecessary lines going through it, ending with a nice looking rear end and some actual exhausts. If this comes in front of me then I might end up following the car to its garage & maybe I’d have a cup of tea with the owner too…

Due to strict emission norms Alfa Romeo stopped offering the V6, so now you only get the I4 which is sad. But I do love how the engine bay surroundings are free from cheap plastic and also how it aligns with the triangle grill.

I think they intentionally made it so beautiful because they know that’s where you’ll be spending most of your time.

Sometimes I wonder why don’t other car companies learn a thing or two from Alfa Romeo but then right after I realise its a good thing, otherwise it’ll loose its uniqueness.
