The 2026 Jeep Recon is the first all-electric SUV to earn the industry’s Trail Rated rating. With this achievement, Jeep redefines off-road capability, offering a vehicle that blends the brand’s rich heritage with cutting-edge electric technology to give drivers an exceptional zero-emissions adventure.
The Jeep Recon is built on a specially developed electric architecture that delivers powerful performance and authentic four-wheel drive. It boasts 650 horsepower and 840 Nm of instant torque, enabling impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3.7 seconds. The Recon features a fully electric four-wheel-drive system with two 250 kW electric drive units (EDMs), one at the front and one at the rear.
These units integrate the electric motor, transmission, and electronics into a compact, highly efficient system. The front axle utilises an 11:1 final drive ratio with an open differential, balancing performance and comfort. The rear axle—particularly on the Moab model—offers a 15:1 ratio to maximise torque and facilitate the traversal of challenging obstacles.
For enhanced stability and control, the vehicle is equipped with an electronically locking rear differential. This allows the driver to switch between open and fully locked modes at the touch of a button for optimal traction on slippery or rough surfaces. This system complements Jeep’s legendary capabilities with the Selec-Terrain traction management system, which offers five driving modes that adapt to all weather conditions and terrain types.
The Jeep Recon is the only electric vehicle with removable doors, a rotating glass panel, and a quad rear window, providing the driver with an open-air driving experience in minutes, with no tools required. The exterior design draws inspiration from Jeep’s heritage, with a modern language that exudes boldness and power.
Inside, the Jeep Recon offers a spacious cabin built for everyday adventures, featuring handcrafted materials, innovative storage solutions, and customisable touches that reflect the Jeep enthusiast lifestyle. The vehicle boasts over 170 standard safety and security features that ensure a confident driving experience in all conditions, along with advanced connectivity technologies that enhance the driver experience and keep them connected to their vehicle and surroundings.
Production of the 2026 Jeep Recon is scheduled to begin early next year at the Toluca Assembly Plant, with initial launches in the United States and Canada, followed by global expansion in the fourth quarter.
