Tag Heuer unveils the Formula 1 | Kith

When it was first launched in 1986, Tag Heuer’s Formula One was the first timepiece to state “Tag Heuer” on its dial. It was a “culture-defining” timepiece that became a first watch for many collectors, including myself. This was also true for Ronnie Fieg, founder of “singular lifestyle brand” – Kith.

Tag Heuer has reimagined this 1980’s icon as a collaboration with Kith, in new upgraded materials and in a series of 10 versions.

Depending on the version, each has a different dial. Each displays “Kith Heuer” at 12 o’clock, “Just Us”, “Limited Edition” and “Swiss Made” at 6 o’clock. Each version has its hour markers, hours and minutes hands, and the tip of the second hands coated in Super-LumiNova®. (Only the black Kith New York does not have its hour markers coated in Super-LumiNova®.)

Case and Bracelet

Each version’s case is 35 mm in diameter, 9.45 mm thick and lug-to-lug width of 40 mm. Each features a flat sapphire crystal and has a water resistance of 200 metres. Each features an original arnite (colour and markings depending on version) 60-minute scale unidirectional bezel.

Depending on the version, its case and bracelet are made of:

– Steel with a steel 5 rows bracelet featuring fine brushed steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons, featuring an engraved Kith Heuer shield.

– Sandblasted black PVD steel case with rubber strap (colour depending on version) and an arnite pin buckle with Kith Heuer branding.

– Original arnite case (colour depending on version) with rubber strap (colour depending on version) and an arnite pin buckle with Kith Heuer branding.
