TAG Heuer unveils a new version of the Monaco Chronograph

A dark blue version with a skeleton dial, in celebration of the Monaco Grand Prix.

TAG Heuer has just launched the Monaco Chronograph in celebration of the Monaco Grand Prix, held in Monaco during May 24 – 26, 2024.

Launched in 1969, the Monaco is a legendary timepiece, perpetually linked to motor racing and cinema, mostly because of its association with Hollywood actor Steve McQueen in the 1971 film “Le Mans”.  McQueen’s character – “Michael Delaney” – wore a Monaco, forever “cementing its status as an icon of style and a cornerstone of motor racing culture.”  The newly launched Monaco Chronograph in dark blue “is a modern tribute to the collection’s historic past and racing heritage while also serving as a testament to TAG Heuer’s ongoing innovation in watchmaking.”

Its blue theme is a homage to the Principality of Monaco’s racing tradition, and a reference to the Mediterranean coast, location of one of the world’s most prestigious motor races. The contrasting touches of yellow on its hands symbolize flying sparks, generated when F1 cars race at high speed.
