Rolls-Royce has once again pushed the limits of Bespoke design with the unveiling of the Phantom Dentelle. This one-off luxury car blends high fashion with automotive art. Commissioned by a Middle Eastern client as a gift for their father, the Phantom Dentelle is a tribute to handmade couture lace.
Inside: 160,000 Stitches of Artistry
The highlight is the embroidery work. The Phantom’s unique Gallery, a glass display that runs the full width of the dashboard, holds a lace-inspired artwork made up of more than 160,000 stitches. Rolls-Royce designers used eight different techniques to layer threads in subtle Rose Gold, Sunrise, and Oatmeal tones.
A triple-run stitch forms a fine mesh base, over which satin stitching shapes floral designs that shimmer like silk. Raised details mimic tiny pearl beads, giving a subtle depth when sunlight moves across the cabin. At the rear, the Waterfall between the seats continues the floral theme with another 70,000 stitches echoing the same delicate artistry.
It sounds a bit too fancy because it simply is! Even the speaker grilles wear a Rose Gold finish to match the embroidery threads. The interior is wrapped in Sunrise and Grace White leather, with embroidered ‘RR’ monograms on every headrest and gleaming Piano White veneer completing this refined suite.
Outside: A Bespoke Palette & Rose Gold Details
The exterior is just as stunning. The Phantom Dentelle wears a two-tone Bespoke finish, with the lower body painted in Crystal over Arctic White and the upper body dressed in Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn, a shade reserved exclusively for this client. The double coachline is rendered in Sunrise and ends with a hand-painted leafy branch bearing pearl-like berries, reflecting the lace artwork inside.
The polished Pantheon Grille gleams under the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy, this time crafted in Rose Gold to match the engraved treadplates. The car stands on 22-inch Fully Polished Disc wheels, each with body-coloured centres and Arctic White centre pinstripes, completing the elegant silhouette.
Under The Skin: V12 Power & Magic Carpet Ride
Beyond the beauty lies serious engineering. The Phantom Dentelle stays true to its pedigree with the trusted 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine under its long bonnet. This refined powerhouse delivers 563hp and an impressive peak torque of 900Nm, available from just 1,700 rpm, ensuring effortless wafting at any speed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a smooth 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, enhanced by Rolls-Royce’s satellite-aided transmission system, which uses GPS data to predict the road ahead and choose the perfect gear for a seamless drive. For a car that weighs well over two tonnes, the Phantom Dentelle can still surge from zero to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds, while top speed remains governed at 250km/h.
True to Rolls-Royce tradition, the Phantom Dentelle glides on self-leveling air suspension with active dampers, providing the brand’s signature ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ that makes imperfections disappear beneath its vast wheelbase.
