Rolls Royce invests into itself with a 300-million-pound expansion to Goodwood

After their third best sales year ever, Rolls has decided to double down and expand Bespoke and Coachbuild capabilities.

After introducing four new models for 2024, the Cullinan Series II, Ghost Series II, and their Black Badge models, Rolls is on a… roll… with their third-best sales year ever (5712 vehicles sold). Bespoke, the in-house customization program, had its best year with 10% increases in their content (read: they were all more expensively customized). How best to celebrate than to reinvest in their own production capabilities?!

It’s no secret that Rolls is doing well and will soon have BEVs requiring a bit more production space. The Bespoke program is getting more and more complex with customers testing Rolls craftsmen to their limits. Representatives from Rolls reported their artisans, “crafted exquisite details including solid 18-carat gold sculptures, intricate embroideries comprising more than 869,500 stitches, delicate marquetry composed of more than 500 individually shaped pieces of wood, captivating mother-of-pearl artworks, and holographic paint finishes, among other notable expressions of contemporary craft.”

The Phantom Extended led the way with the most Bespoke vehicles produced with Specter in second place. The Middle East led the way with the highest average values for Bespoke cars followed by North America and Europe. Coachbuild, the ultimate expression of Bespoke, unveiled the Arcadia Droptail which is only one of four builds to date, previously the commissioned ‘Sweptail’ and Boat Tail.

The 300-million-pound investment will see facilities expansion and the Invite-only Private Office network. Currently compromising three locations, the program will add two more locations. These offices take the Bespoke program to locations around the world for customers to get hands-on experience in customizing their cars. New York and Seoul were added along with the existing Dubai, Shanghai, and Goodwood home offices. The experience costs an additional 25% more to explore the full extent of the Bespoke experience.

Rolls is setting itself up for another excellent year in 2025. Cullinan led the way with the most sales, followed by the Spectre and Ghost. The flagship Phantom is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year as well. Expect more Rolls BEVs and even wilder and custom cars coming from Goodwood soon!

Cheers!
