New versions of the Deepsea, Cosmograph Daytona and the Sky-Dweller.

Rolex has revealed six timepieces during Watches and Wonders Geneva, which was held during April 9th – April 15th, 2024.

In Part 2, we look at three of them. These include a new precious metal version of the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea, two new exclusive and precious versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, and two new precious metal versions of the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller in a Jubilee bracelet.


Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea


Rolex’s mighty Deepsea is now available in an 18K yellow gold case and features a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic and a blue lacquer dial.

Its blue lacquer dial features 11-hour markers crafted in 18K yellow gold and coated in Rolex’s Chromalight. The hands are crafted in 18K white gold and coated with Chromalight. The highly legible Chromalight emits a long-lasting blue glow luminescence. “Deepsea” – displayed between 6 o’clock and centre of the dial is in powdered yellow.

Its functions are hours, minutes, centre seconds, instantaneous date at 3 o’clock, and stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

It is powered by calibre 3235 – a Manufacture Rolex mechanical calibre with bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor. It features Rolex innovations such as the Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and Chronergy escapement. It has 31 jewels, beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph or 4 Hz, and has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It offers a precision of -2/+2 seconds/day after casing.

Its case is crafted in 18K yellow gold, and has a diameter of 44 mm, thickness of 17.70 mm and lug width of 22 mm. Its 18K yellow gold middle case features a satin finish with polished sides. Its unidirectional rotatable bezel is crafted in 18K yellow gold. Its 18K yellow gold and RLX titanium solid screw-down caseback features fine fluting. It has a domed 5.5 mm-thick scratch-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective coating.

Its safety features include an integral crown guard, helium escape valve in RLX titanium, and a Ringlock system – the latter is a “case architecture with high-performance compression ring.”

It is water resistant up to 3,900 metres or 12,800 feet.

Its Oyster bracelet is crafted in 18K yellow gold and features satin finish with polished edges, and ceramic inserts. It’s Oysterlock folding safety clasp is crafted in 18K yellow gold. It features a Rolex Glidelock extension system (approximately 20 mm in increments of approximately 2 mm).

It is designated a Superlative Chronometer, as it is both COSC and Rolex certified, the latter after casing.

Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona

Rolex’s iconic Daytona is now available in two new versions. These include:

White mother-of-pearl dial in an 18K white gold case with Oysterflex bracelet. Its dial features subdials in black mother-of-pearl, 8 diamonds in an 18K white gold setting, and hour markers at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock crafted in 18K white gold and coated with Chromalight. The hands are crafted in 18K white gold. The hour and minute hands and coated with Chromalight. The highly legible Chromalight emits a long-lasting blue glow luminescence.

Its 18K white gold case has a diameter of 40 mm, thickness of 11.90 mm, and lug width of 20 mm. It features an 18K white gold bezel set with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 3.26 carats). Its 18K white gold middle case features a polished finish, and its 18K white gold solid screw-down caseback features fine fluting. It has a scratch-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective coating. It comes with an Oysterflex bracelet – “flexible metal blades overmoulded with high-performance elastomer.”  It’s Oysterlock folding safety clasp is crafted in 18K white gold. It features a Rolex Glidelock extension system (approximately 15 mm in increments of approximately 2.5 mm). Its safety feature includes an integral crown guard. It is water resistant up to 100 metres or 330 feet.

Both versions are powered by calibre 4131 – a Manufacture Rolex mechanical chronograph calibre, featuring a column wheel and vertical clutch, with bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor. It features Rolex Côtes de Genèva finish, and Rolex innovations such as the Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and Chronergy escapement. It has 47 jewels, beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph or 4 Hz, and has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. It offers a precision of -2/+2 seconds/day after casing.

It is designated a Superlative Chronometer, as it is both COSC and Rolex certified, the latter after casing.

Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller

Rolex’s Sky-Dweller, its most complicated timepiece – featuring both a dual time and an annual calendar – is now available for the first time in a Jubilee bracelet in precious metal. There are two versions:

Slate, gloss, sunray finish dial in an 18K Everose gold case. Its dial features 10-hour markers crafted in 18K pink gold and coated with Chromalight. The hands are crafted in 18K pink gold. The hour and minute hands and coated with Chromalight. The highly legible Chromalight emits a long-lasting blue glow luminescence. 

Its 18K Everose gold case has a diameter of 42 mm, thickness of 13.80 mm, and lug width of 22 mm. Its fluted and bidirectional rotatable bezel is crafted in 18K Everose gold and features a Ring Command system for function setting. Its 18K Everose gold middle case features a polished finish, and its 18K Everose gold solid screw-down caseback features fine fluting. It has a scratch-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective coating, and a cyclops lens above the date with double anti-reflective coating. Its Jubilee bracelet is crafted in 18K Everose gold and features polished centre links, satin-finish outer links with polished edges, and ceramic inserts. Its folding Oysterclasp is crafted in 18K Everose gold and features an Easylink comfort extension link (approximately 5 mm). It is water resistant up to 100 metres or 330 feet.

Intense white, matt, fine satin finish dial in an 18K yellow gold case. Its dial features 10-hour markers crafted in 18K yellow gold and coated with Chromalight. Its 18K yellow gold case has a diameter of 42 mm, thickness of 13.80 mm, and lug width of 22 mm. Its fluted and bidirectional rotatable bezel is crafted in 18K yellow gold and features a Ring Command system for function setting.

The Sky-Dweller’s functions are centre hours and minutes (local time), centre seconds, reference or dual time via a 24-hour off-centre disc, Saros instantaneous annual calendar – date at 3 o’clock and month display via 12-apertures around the edge of the dial, and stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

Both versions are powered by calibre 9002 – a Manufacture Rolex mechanical calibre with bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor. It features Rolex innovations such as the Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers and Chronergy escapement. It has 45 jewels, beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph or 4 Hz, and has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. It offers a precision of -2/+2 seconds/day after casing.

It is designated a Superlative Chronometer, as it is both COSC and Rolex certified, the latter after casing.
