Rimac Automobili rewrites the electric hypercar game. Building on the extraordinary legacy of the original Nevera — which famously broke 23 performance records in a single day at Germany’s Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in 2023 — the newly unveiled Rimac Nevera R has now officially surpassed every one of those records, setting an entirely new benchmark in EV and hypercar performance.
Among the most jaw-dropping achievements is the Rimac Nevera R’s 0–400–0 km/h (0–249–0 mph) time of just 25.79 seconds, shaving 4.14 seconds off the standard Nevera’s record. The Rimac Nevera R also accelerates from 0–60 mph in a blistering 1.66 seconds, and reaches 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 7.89 seconds — a 1.33-second improvement. Verified by performance data experts Dewesoft, all runs were completed in the car’s high-speed mode as part of the final validation testing before customer deliveries begin.
In total, the Rimac Nevera R now holds over 20 world performance records, including: 0–100 km/h in 1.72 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 3.95 seconds, 0–300 km/h in 7.89 seconds, Quarter mile in 7.90 seconds, Standing mile in 19.71 seconds with a new EV world record top speed of 431.45 km/h (268.2 mph).
The Nevera R’s dominance comes from more than just raw power, although its 2,107 hp output from four individual electric motors is among the highest in any production car. Every major system in the vehicle has been re-engineered to deliver enhanced precision, grip, and aerodynamics.
A new aero package, featuring a fixed rear wing and enlarged diffuser, increases downforce by 15% and improves aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. Meanwhile, high-performance Michelin Cup 2 tires reduce understeer by 10% and boost lateral grip by 5%, working in harmony with Rimac’s updated All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system, which recalibrates torque 100 times per second for optimal traction.
Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, stated: “When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached. But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”
Priced from €2.3 million, the Rimac Nevera R will be limited to just 40 units worldwide. This follows the original Nevera’s multiple world records, including: fastest electric production car: 412 km/h (256 mph), fastest EV up the Goodwood Hillclimb: 49.32 seconds, and the Nürburgring EV production lap record: 7:05.298
