The Raketa Watch Factory (“Raketa”) has collaborated with the Moscow based Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre to unveil the Raketa Theatre. Saint-Petersburg based Raketa is among the oldest watch factories in the world. The Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre is named after Sergey Vladimirovich Obraztsov (22 June 1901 – 8 May 1992), a famous Soviet and Russian puppeteer.

Key Features
Functions
Hours, minutes, and seconds.
Dial
Image: The Raketa Theatre, puppets, and artwork. Notice the large artwork of the dial. A lot of effort has been put into the design of each of the 12 puppets on the dial.
The dial has been “inspired by the famous pediment clock that decorates the facade of the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre, where each hour corresponds to the figurine of an animal. Each figurine image has been reinterpreted by the Raketa’s designers in a modern avant-garde aesthetic and applied to the dial.”
The dial is a result of high quality printing and embossing. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova.
Movement
Image: The average rate of this movement is -10/+20 seconds per day, not exactly chronometric. The multi-coloured printing on the automatic winding rotor matches that of the dial and stitching on the strap.
Powered by in-house calibre 2615, a mechanical automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, and seconds.
Jewels: 24. Frequency: 18,000 vph or 2.5 Hz. Power reserve: 40 hours. Movement features a bidirectional automatic winding rotor. A mechanism stops the automatic winding unit if you choose to manually-wind the movement. Movement finishing is a combination of laser engraving, Neva waves, and printing.
Case

Image: I love the box shaped sapphire crystal. Notice the synthetic ruby in the crown and the stitching on the dial.
Case is made from stainless steel. Diameter: 39.50 mm. Thickness: 15.78 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 46.88 mm. Lug width 22 mm.

Dial side features a sapphire crystal. Caseback features a mineral glass. Water resistant up to 5 bar or approximately 50 metres. Watch comes with a leather strap with stitching that matches the colours on the dial and the printing on the automatic winding rotor.
Our Thoughts
Image: Heritage, art, colours, and a lifetime of childhood memories on the wrist. After all, who has not seen puppet shows as a child.
The Raketa Theatre is a unique and colourful take on a simple three-hand watch. It is Soviet and Russian heritage on the wrist and a rare collectable. Beyond this watch collaboration, Raketa’s specialists are working with the Sergey Obraztsov Puppet Theatre to help restore their famous clock on which the watch is based. The Raketa Theatre proves that desirable watches can come from anywhere in the world.
