Porsche registers another record year with the 2024 Icons of Porsche

The fourth weekend of November 2024 saw Porsche host the fourth edition of the Middle East’s biggest Porsche festival, the Icons of Porsche, at Dubai’s Design District. This two-day event saw Porsche register a sell-out attendance of over 28,000 visitors from across the world.

“Porsche has always been all about fascinating sports cars, and just as much about emotions and dreams – that connect people across generations and continents,” said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board, Porsche AG, when he addressed the passionate crowd on the Saturday night which marked his second appearance in the event history. “All of this comes together at Icons of Porsche in a truly unique way – in front of this spectacular backdrop here in Dubai.” Porsche ambassadors Mark Webber and Jorg Bergmeister were also on-hand where the latter also joined a 200-car community drive on Friday morning prior to the event up Jebel Jais, the highest point in the United Arab Emirates.

Spanning 44,000 square metres, the 2024 Icons of Porsche was abuzz across the two-day weekend with live art installations, cultural exhibits, live music and entertainment and community gatherings. Over 10 of Dubai’s popular food joints put up pop-up stalls to serve the visitors,  including the DRVN by Porsche café which created a one-off ‘Cayenne Pepper’ pizza exclusively for this year’s festival.

This year’s mega event celebrated reigning Formula E World Champion Wehrlein on the main stage along with his championship-winning Porsche 99X Electric Formula E race car. Additionally, the one-off 911 Turbo Remastered car created by the Porsche Sonderwunsch special request department and presented at last year’s Icons of Porsche made a return at the 2024 edition, only to be auctioned in conjunction with RM Sotheby’s.
