Porsche may be keeping combustion engines alive, but its electric ambitions haven’t slowed down. A perfect example is the upcoming Cayenne Electric. Due for debut at the end of this year, it’s shaping up to be one of the best electric SUVs out there. In the build-up to the SUV’s launch, Porsche has now revealed what the electric SUV’s interior looks like.
Forget minimalism for a second. From curved OLED screens to heated door panels, this Cayenne takes digital luxury and integrates it with motorsport DNA.
Flow Display: Porsche’s New Digital Signature
Dominating the Cayenne Electric’s cabin is what Porsche calls the Flow Display. Think of it as a supersized curved OLED that flows seamlessly from the dash into the centre console. More than just an extraordinary number of pretty pixels, it houses climate controls, infotainment, and customisable widgets that make it intuitive and futuristic.
This setup creates the largest continuous digital surface ever seen in a Porsche. The 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster is crisp, configurable, and highlights everything from performance data to driver assistance functions. For the passenger, an optional 14.9-inch screen offers entertainment without distracting the driver. Add to that a head-up display with augmented reality, projecting 87 inches of arrows and lane guidance directly onto the road, and you get a cockpit that almost feels like it belongs in a futuristic fighter jet from a sci-fi movie.
Mood Modes: Creating That Perfect Ambience
Performance isn’t just about numbers anymore — it’s about how a car makes you feel. That’s where Porsche’s new Mood Modes make all the difference. These orchestrate lighting, climate, sound, and even seat settings to create distinct atmospheres inside the Cayenne Electric.
The panoramic roof takes things further. It’s Porsche’s largest-ever glass roof, with nine segments that can individually switch between clear, matte, semi-transparent, and bold opacity settings. Unlike most EVs that lock their glass in place, the Cayenne’s still opens like a classic sunroof. Pretty cool.
More Luxury Than Ever Before
Porsche isn’t skimping on comfort either. Rear seats are now electrically adjustable as standard, offering both cargo flexibility and lounge-like comfort. And then there’s the new surface heating system, which doesn’t just warm the seats but the armrests and door panels too.
The Cayenne Electric isn’t just digital; it’s deeply personal. Porsche offers 13 interior colour combinations, plus multiple interior and accent packages. From Magnesium Grey to Lavender, customers can dial in everything from subtle elegance to bold contrast stitching.
For those who want something heritage-inspired, there’s a Race-Tex interior with Pepita print — a nod to Porsche icons of the past. For purists, leather is still an option. And if that’s not enough, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the Sonderwunsch programme allow for virtually one-off creations. In short, you could have a one-off Cayenne Electric.
The Power That Lurks Beneath The Surface
While this article is about the interior that’s just been revealed, we can’t just gloss over what powers the Cayenne Electric. The top trim will push out over 1,073hp and 1,500Nm, catapulting this SUV from 0–100km/h in under three seconds.
Claimed Range? More than 600km on WLTP standards, courtesy of a 113-kWh battery with higher energy density than the Taycan’s. And with 400-kW charging, you’re back on the road, charged up from 10-80% in just 15 minutes.
