Ralph Lauren Watches and Jewelry, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren, has just unveiled the new generation of The Polo Watch. They were recently spotted at the Ralph Lauren Spring 25’ Runway Show at the Hamptons, New York.

Key Features
The Polo Watch is available in two version: Blue Dial with Green Bezel (above right) and Blue Dial with Blue Bezel (above left). Apart from bezel and strap, all dial, case, and movement features are the same. Further details below.

The Polo Watch’s functions include:

– Central seconds.
Dial
The Polo Watch’s dial features include:
– Its dial is azure matt blue (inner dial) and feature a black lacquered finish (outer dial).
– The sword-shaped hour and minute hand feature both a black lacquered finish and white Super-Luminova®. The seconds hand features both a red lacquered finish and white Super-Luminova®.
– A black and yellow scale divides the inner dial from the outer dial.
– The outer dial features a minute and second scale, printed on the dial. The 12 hour-markers are coated with white Super-Luminova®.
– “POLO RALPH LAUREN” is displayed at 12 o’clock, and “SWISS MADE” on the outer dial at 6 o’clock.
Case and Bezels
The Polo Watch’s case features and bezel versions include:
– Its case is made of stainless steel, featuring a polished finish.
– There are two versions: Green Anodized Rotating aluminium bezel version and Blue Anodized Rotating aluminium bezel version.
– Both bezels feature a 60-minute scale.
– Its case diameter is 42.00 mm and case thickness 12.35 mm. Its lug-width is 20 mm.
– On its dial side, it features a curved sapphire crystal with an “internal colourless anti-reflective treatment.”
– It has a closed caseback.
– Its stainless steel crown at 3 o’clock features the brand’s iconic Pony logo.
– It is water resistant up to 10 Bar or about 100 metres.
Straps and Buckle
The Polo Watch’s strap features include:

– Both are fitted to a polished steel pin buckle – 20/18 mm, engraved with “Polo”.
Movement
The Polo Watch’s movement features include:
– It is powered by Caliber RL200, a mechanical automatic movement made by Sellita in Switzerland. It drives the hours, minutes, and seconds.
– According to online sources, Caliber RL 200 is based on Sellita SW 200-1, which includes a date function (not used on this model) and a hacking second for accurate time setting.
– It has 26 jewels.
– It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph or 4 Hz.
– It has a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
– Its movement finish includes vertical Côtes de Genève and Perlage.

The new The Polo Watch features an abundance of dial and case details, comes with colourful straps, and powered by a robust and dependable movement, easily serviceable by a competent watchmaker worldwide. Priced at $1,690, quite affordable. Both versions pack a punch.
Both versions are fun, adventurous, and casual timepieces, perfect in most settings. I am sure the straps can be changed to fabric or leather straps, when the owner feels the orange or red rubber straps are too bright and loud. The Polo Watch is a refreshing and welcome addition to almost any timepiece collection.
