Parmigiani Fleurier has unveiled the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph. This follows a month and a half after Watches and Wonders Geneve 2024, where they launched few impressive timepieces.
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph features a COSC-certified in-house automatic movement, a stainless-steel case, and available in three versions: Milano Blue, Arctic Grey, and London Grey. Each features an abundance of dial, case, and movement details. The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is a superb and versatile haute-horology timepiece, equally at ease in a casual or formal setting.
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is “a sports watch in its essence and nature, but whose appearance and treatment place it more on the side of elegant watches reserved for purists. Dial
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is available in three dial versions with the following features:
– Silver & Milano Blue features a silver dial with both Milano blue subdials and an outer seconds and minute track.
– Silver & Arctic Grey features a silver dial with both Arctic grey subdials and an outer seconds and minute track.
– Silver & London Grey features a silver dial with both London grey subdials and an outer seconds and minutes track.
– Each dial features a guilloche finish, known as “clou triangulaire guilloché.”
– Each feature 12 hand-applied hour-markers, made of 18K gold, rhodium-plated and coated with black luminescent material.
– Each versions hour and minute hands are skeletonized and delta-shaped, made of 18K gold, rhodium-plated and coated with black luminescent material near their tips.
– Each versions central chronograph hand, 30-minute counter hand, 12-hour counter hand and small seconds hand is made of rhodium-plated steel.
– Each versions date aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock is black in colour.
Movement
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is powered by calibre PF070-COSC. It is a COSC-certified in-house automatic movement featuring an integrated column wheel chronograph. Its features include:
– Satin-finished openworked bridges featuring hand-beveled edges.
– Its 22K rose gold skeletonized automatic-winding rotor features a polished and sandblasted finish. It is reminiscent of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO’s steering wheel.
– Calibre diameter is 30.60 mm and calibre thickness is 6.95 mm.
– It comprises of 315 parts and 42 jewels.
– It beats at a high frequency of 36,000 vph or 5Hz.
– It has a power reserve of 65 hours.
Case and Strap
The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph’s case and strap features are as follows:
– Its case is made of stainless steel, featuring a polished and satin finish.
– It features a knurled bezel.
– Case diameter is 42 mm and case thickness is 12.90 mm.
– It screwed-in crown has a diameter of 6.50 mm.
– Chronograph pushers are located between 1 and 2 o’clock, and 4 and 5 o’clock.
– On its dial side, it features an ARunic anti-reflective sapphire glass. On its caseback side, it features a sapphire glass.
– Each timepiece’s individual serial number, “Parmigiani Fleurier” and “36’000 Alt/h” (the latter a reference to the movement’s high frequency) is engraved on the caseback.
– Water resistance is 100 metres.
– Milano Blue comes with a matching Milano blue colour rubber strap.
– Arctic Grey comes with a matching Arctic grey colour rubber strap.
– London Grey comes with a matching London grey colour rubber strap.
– Each features a folding clasp made of stainless steel.
