Pagani Celebrates 25th Anniversary In The Middle East

Let’s clear the mounting doubts first. Yes, as an automobile manufacturer, Pagani has existed for more than a quarter of a century. However, its first model, the legendary Zonda C12, was launched in 1999. If you take that as the starting point, the Italian brand is celebrating 25 years of selling cars in 2023. And how can you not visit the UAE to mark the occasion? An event was hosted at the Bulgari Resort in Dubai exclusively for customers and partners in the Middle East and Africa.

Pagani took the opportunity to debut its latest creation, the Utopia, in the region. After the Zonda and the Huayra, the Utopia becomes the brand’s torchbearer. It takes the fight to several supercar makers globally. Some of the 99 Utopia Coupes planned have been delivered to their customers. First unveiled in 2022, the Pagani Utopia has a 6.0-litre V12 that offers 864hp. There’s no electrical assistance available for propulsion.

While Utopia was the star of the show, Pagani did reserve space for two models from its history books. One was the Zonda F Roadster, which, like the C12 a few years earlier, broke cover at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006. The 650hp open-top showcased Pagani’s prowess in engineering by tipping the weight scale at 1,250kg, precisely the same as its fixed-top sibling.

The other model on display was the Huayra Roadster. Like the Zonda F Roadster, the Huayra soft-top also made its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show (the 2017 edition). Not only was it stunning to behold, but it also claimed the title of the first-ever Roadster that was lighter than the Coupe version. This was achieved by developing new composite materials comprising carbon and titanium. The company’s founder – Horacio Pagani – described the Huayra Roadster as the most complicated project. It took six years to complete, and only 100 units were created.
