The gap between flagship and mid-range smartphones is diminishing with every passing day. With the advent of A.I., mid-range smartphones have become more capable than ever, offering flagship-level features at a fraction of the price. One such product is the newly launched Oppo A6 Pro 5G, which packs a massive 6,500mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast-charging, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and an IP69 water- and dust-resistance rating. Oppo has equipped the A6 Pro 5G with a host of thoughtful features designed to improve the user experience such as Outdoor Mode 2.0 and Reverse Charging along with robust after-sales service policies that ensure stress-free ownership and longevity. But is the Oppo A6 Pro 5G truly the best in its class? Let’s find out.

Battery Life: 6500mAh powerhouse with reverse charging
Life in 2025 revolves around smartphones, making battery life a critical factor when buying one. Fortunately, one won’t have to think twice in that aspect when considering the Oppo A6 Pro 5G as it packs a whopping 6500mAh battery. Capable of over 19 hours of Youtube playback and almost 9 hours of heavy gaming like PUBG, the A6 Pro 5G’s battery easily lasts a day and then some more.
With light gaming for about an hour, consistent social media use, short calls, and outdoor photography, the Oppo A6 Pro 5G breezed through the day and still had enough power left for the next morning. Under heavy gaming, that duration drops to about a full day which is impressive and easily acceptable for a smartphone on a mid-range budget.

In addition to its large battery, the Oppo A6 Pro 5G supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging – on par with Oppo’s flagship models. Fifteen minutes of charging brings the battery to just over 30%, while a full charge takes less than an hour. An impressive feat for such a large capacity battery. Although repeated high-speed charging typically affects long-term battery health, Oppo claims the A6 Pro 5G retains over 80% of its capacity even after 1,830 charge cycles (roughly five years), assuming it’s charged once a day.
A standout feature is reverse charging, which allows one to charge accessories like bluetooth headphones, night light or even another mobile phone. Essentially, the Oppo A6 Pro 5G doubles up as a power bank which can be super convenient for someone who’s always on the go and with multiple devices. For social media managers and content creators, this might truly be the one device that powers it all.

Durability: Tested for toughness
Smartphones inevitably get dropped. Oppo ensures minimal to no damage is incurred courtesy of AGC DT-Star D+ Crystal Shield Glass which protects the A6 Pro’s screen, delivering outstanding impact resistance. And not just the exterior display, but the A6 Pro’s hardware also benefits from added protection with the fitment of Oppo’s signature Sponge Bionic Cushioning. Made from foam and silicone pads, it acts as tiny airbags to shield key components of the A6 Pro upon impact. Additionally, the motherboard’s top cover is made from high-strength aluminum alloy, known to deform far less than standard aluminium
The Oppo A6 Pro 5G also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. In simple terms, it can survive immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, resist high-pressure water jets (including hot jets up to 85°C), and is sealed tight with dust protection seen on flagship phones to ensure nothing enters inside the smartphone. Such a protection trait is typically seen only on flagship phones.

Display: AMOLED Sharpness
The display is arguably the most crucial aspect of any modern smartphone, and the A6 Pro 5G doesn’t disappoint. Its 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate offers smooth, crisp scrolling and a noticeable upgrade for anyone moving up from a 60Hz display. The 1080 × 2370 resolution ensures the digital real estate is expansive and appealing to the eyes, and even under bright sunlight, the screen remains perfectly legible thanks to its 1,400 nits of peak brightness.

Dimensions: Great to grasp
While many modern flagship smartphones have become uncomfortably large, the A6 Pro feels just right on the palm. At just 8mm thick and 185g, it feels comfortable and easy to hold. Rounded edges further enhance grip comfort during long gaming or content-creation sessions.
The phone is available in two colours—Stellar Blue and Rosewood Red. Our Stellar Blue review unit looked elegant to the eye and stays true to its name – stellar. The camera module barely protrudes, allowing the phone to rest nearly flat on surfaces – a rare trait even among flagship smartphones.

Performance: Smooth Operator
The Oppo A6 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor running ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. The interface feels familiar, ensuring an easy learning curve.
A highlight feature is Outdoor Mode 2.0, which enhances usability in hot or bright conditions by prioritizing active apps, boosting audio cues, maintaining peak brightness for longer, and enabling glove and waterproof case touches – ideal for bikers or outdoor professionals.

Heat is always a concern under the UAE’s intense weather, but Oppo has addressed this with a larger vapor chamber and an expanded graphite layer which is claimed to increase the total heat dissipation area by 21 per cent. One can reap the benefits of these small but significant cooling improvements while gaming for longer hours, especially outdoors, where we hardly faced any heating issues during our assessment.
AI integration extends beyond performance. The AI LinkBoost 3.0 system optimizes signal performance in crowded or weak-signal zones by leveraging a 360-degree surround antenna that locks onto the strongest network, ensuring faster and more reliable connectivity.

For professionals, the A6 Pro’s AI Docs will be a particularly appreciated feature as it can summarise, translate, edit documents seamlessly. It uses AI to intelligently summarise key pieces of information while also being capable of translating foreign-language documents. We found the AI Translate feature to be particularly useful as it lets the user read the original and translated versions side by side for easier comprehension and cross-referencing.

Camera: Capable and AI-assisted
The rear setup includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP bokeh portrait lens. The primary shooter captures detailed, vibrant images, though some photos exhibit slight over-sharpening due to post-processing. However, users of the A6 Pro also have the option to manually enable 50MP Hi-res mode that ensures photos stay sharp, even when zoomed in or cropped. The portrait mode in default settings functions particularly well and manages to separate the subject from the background, provided the subject is well lit.

The A6 Pro supports 1080p video recording at 60fps with solid stabilization and an intuitive zoom slider reminiscent of classic handycam controls – classic but effective. The camera interface is clean, familiar, and efficient. Frequently-used options are just a tap away, minimizing the need to dig through multiple submenus to find advanced options.

The photo gallery’s AI-powered editing tools expand creative flexibility. AI Editor automatically recomposes images using photography rules such as Rule of Thirds, AI Eraser boasts multiple ways to select subjects including person detection and smart lasso with the latter particularly working sublimely at detecting objects even with vague outlines, Enhance Clarity sharpens blurry text-heavy images, and Remove Reflections eliminates glare without distorting the subject.
Connectivity: Future-proof
The Oppo A6 Pro gets dual SIM functionality with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, a Type-C USB interface at the bottom and NFC support as well.

After-Sales Service Plans and Special Offers: Early bird offers for UAE customers
For buyers in GCC countries, Oppo offers cross-country warranty service, covering repair and upgrade support across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. These should strengthen the A6 Pro’s appeal for long-term users and frequent travelers across Asia and the Middle East.
Furthermore, Oppo is offering a couple of special perks for early-bird UAE customers of the Oppo A6 Pro 5G. Those opting to buy the smartphone between 24th October to 9th November, 2025 in the UAE, will further receive Oppo headphones plus a 12-month Waterproof & Screen Protection Warranty – both free of charge. 10th November onwards, customers of the A6 Pro 5G will only receive the headphones free of charge whereas the protection warranties won’t be offered with the smartphone anymore.

Conclusion
For users prioritizing battery life, durability, AI-enhanced functionality, and outdoor usability, the Oppo A6 Pro 5G is a remarkably well-rounded contender which offers you all without breaking the bank. Its reverse charging, vivid display, and comprehensive service coverage further make it a smart pick for creators, professionals, and travelers seeking dependable performance in 2025.
