Mini unveils the Cabrio Seaside Edition to celebrate 30 years of the iconic convertible

The Mini Cabrio has been on the road for 30 years with its inimitable charm. To celebrate this anniversary, the British brand is presenting a special series limited to 3,000 units worldwide. This will allow the model to look forward to a peaceful end to its career before the next generation arrives in 2023. The Seaside Edition Cabrio has a special look with two colours: Aqua Caribbean Blue and Nanuq White.

The car also gets specific badges on the front bumper, the front wings, the 18-inch wheel cores and the boot lid. There is also a revised key design and two white lines running along the vehicle’s profile. On board, the Seaside Edition Cabrio features black leather upholstery with white stitching. There are also motifs on the passenger side and floor mats with a new logo.

Seaside lettering appears on the door sills and lower steering wheel rim. The car retains a canvas top and allows the top to be removed at speeds up to 30 km/h. Under the bonnet, the Mini Cabrio Seaside Edition offers two engines: a 136 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 184 PS 2.0-litre engine for the S version. The 8-speed automatic transmission will be compulsory on both engines. The Mini Cabrio Seaside Edition will go on sale in February 2023.

Mini is actively working on a replacement for the current Mini Cooper, which was launched in 2014. The fifth generation of the trendy city car will only be available in 2023 with an electric motor. The car should return to its fundamentals with smaller dimensions. The convertible will follow, but you’ll have to be patient as it will arrive in 2025, again with a canvas top.
