Mercedes-AMG is developing their own in-house full-size electric SUV

This will be the sixth model to come from the performance specialists from Affalterbach

When I think of AMG, I think of all the amazing cars over the years with gobs of power and a presence to startle even the most rock-solid individuals. Since being turned loose to make their own cars in-house for Mercedes, the combination has turned out six vehicles so far: GT, SL, prior GT generation, SLS models, the currently testing AMG.EA sedan, and now a confirmed full-size SUV.

The high-performance off-roader is confirmed to be electric and the second vehicle to be on the AMG.EA platform. Details are slim as the SUV is slated to begin testing this winter. The AMG.EA sedan is currently testing in Sweden in temperatures as low as negative twenty-five, so we can imagine the SUV will also be showing up to see if it can withstand the bitter cold.

If you’re thinking AMG isn’t familiar with SUVs lets remember they pioneered the ML 55 AMG many moons ago and has since been turning out numerous sport utilities over the years. Vehicles such as the GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS, and EQE SUV are all currently in the lineup with AMG magic to boast with the G63 G-Wagon being the top of the range.

What do you think this new EV Mercedes-AMG off-road SUV will be? More like a G-Wagon or more EQE style?

Cheers,
