Louis Erard has collaborated with American watch blog Worn & Wound to unveil the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Worn & Wound.
“This collaboration was never about shortcuts. Together with Worn & Wound, we spent three years shaping the most ambitious idea rather than settling for the simple one. The result is nothing short of extraordinary — one of my favourite Louis Erard editions to date.” – Manuel Emch, CEO of Louis Erard.
Key Features
Functions
Hours – indicated on the disc at 12 o’clock. Minutes – indicated on the large central disc. Seconds – indicated on the disc at 6 o’clock. Winding and time-setting via the crown at 3 o’clock.
Dial

Three-layered dial. First layer is the base, a “cool, near-white surface,” on which the “skeletonised hour and minute discs appear to float.” Second layer is the fluted light-blue expanse of the outer dial “aligned to minute increments.” Third and “topmost layer” is the cobalt-coloured deep lacquered dial for the minutes featuring a minute scale composed of white Arabic numerals and indexes.
Movement

Powered by Sellita SW266-1, an automatic regulator style movement that drives the hours, minutes and seconds with a stop-seconds function. Movement diameter: 25.60 mm or 11 ½ lignes. Thickness: 5.60 mm. Jewels: 31. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 38 hours (approximately).
Case

Made from polished 316L stainless steel. Diameter: 39 mm. Thickness: 13.4 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 45 mm. Lug width: 20 mm. Dial and caseback feature a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 50 metres. Watch comes with a pebbled taupe leather strap.

“Given Louis Erard’s willingness to push boundaries, the goal for the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Worn & Wound was to reinterpret the regulator layout and then refine an aesthetic around it. A true collaboration where ideas were shared, discussed, and iterated, the resulting watch touches on the traditional while being entirely distinct, and brushes against the avant-garde while being easy to digest. Also, it’s utterly beautiful. We couldn’t be happier with the result.” – Zach Weiss, Co-Founder and Executive Editor of Worn & Wound.
