Lock Horns With Any Terrain In The RZR Pro R Sport

It’s powered by a 2.0-litre engine that offers 225hp.

If you want to have fun off the road, Polaris is one of the first brands that rings the mind. The American brand makes some of the most potent all-terrain vehicles (ATV), and it has just introduced its flagship model – the RXR Pro R Sport – in India. It becomes the fourth variant in the RZR Pro R series and comes with a starting price of INR 59 lakh.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated ProStar Fury engine that pumps out 225hp, while an automatic unit and a low-range gearbox decide how the oomph is sent to the wheels. So yes, you can use it in two-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive high and four-wheel-drive low. And because the ATV weighs around 945kg (dry), you can expect some serious performance. For stopping, you’ve got hydraulic discs on all four wheels, whereas the adjustable shocks and massive suspension can take almost any punishment. And the 16 inches of ground clearance and a short wheelbase will ensure you enjoy the terrains where SUVs would rather retire and go home.

Now, the Polaris RZR Pro R Sport is a serious machine. And it doesn’t have the creature comforts you’ll find in everyday runabouts. So, its list of features looks like this – vented full doors, lockable cargo space, LED lighting front and back, bucket seats with adjustable 4-point harness and multiple drives modes (Sport, Rock and Race). Even the wheels are hardcore – painted cast aluminium rims with a 5-lug pattern.

The first specimen of the RZR Pro R Sport was handed over to Mr Teja from Hyderabad. And if you’re interested in purchasing a mean machine for off-roading from Polaris, you can do so via any of the eleven authorised dealerships in the country. Moreover, there are more than 90 Polaris Experience Zones (off-road tracks) that you can visit and make the most out of your ATV.
