Limited Sneaker Edition By Puma Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of The Porsche 911 Turbo
12 different sneaker designs include one inspired by Louise Piëch’s metallic silver car and another by Ferry Porsche’s Oak Green Metallic1976 930 turbo; a pair will set you back AED 695 approx.
Here’s one for the Porsche fans out there! The German sportscar manufacturer is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo with an exclusive series of 12 different sneaker designs, designed in collaboration with sportswear brand Puma. Each design is based on the brand-new motorsport-inspired “Road Rider” sneaker and is limited to 911 units.
Historic connection: Turbo No. 1 & Turbo 930 models
Two models in the sneaker series have a historical connection. The full-grain leather “Turbo No. 1” sneaker is based on the legendary Porsche that was presented to Louise Piëch, daughter of automotive pioneer Ferdinand Porsche, on her 70th birthday. Inspired by Louise’s car, the sneaker too was created in metallic silver. Inside, the sport shoes feature the first 911 Turbo model’s iconic red and blue tartan pattern. The nubuck leather “Turbo 930” sneaker pays homage to Dr. Ferry Porsche’s 1976 Oak Green Metallic Turbo and features a green tartan pattern for the inner lining.
Vintage ‘turbo’ lettering on the outside and a subtle Porsche logo are the key elements on all versions. Also to note is the heel section, which picks up on the characteristic “whale fin” rear spoiler and horizontal red tail lights. The heel also features a tonal Porsche Crest in 3D print and the front of the lacing is adorned with a removable plaque with 50th anniversary lettering.

Additionally, 10 exclusive market editions are being launched, each inspired by a specific Porsche 911 Turbo from markets like Germany, France, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the U.S. and Canada, each with one of thirty available exterior colours from the original Porsche colour charts from 1975 to 1977.
The 50th anniversary Porsche 911 Turbo limited sneaker editions “Turbo No. 1” and “Turbo 930” will be available from 29 August 29 at a price of 169 Euro RRP (AED 695 approximately) at shop.porsche.com and in the Porsche Museum Shop in Stuttgart, Germany. Customers will also receive an additional set of black laces, an exclusive black Porsche Puma sports bag with zipper and adjustable shoulder strap. Who wants one?
